If thats enough of a connection for you thats fine.

Personally though I find “Childhood Friend” as the laziest excuse for characters having a connection let alone romantic connection to each other.
lol, she was there for him when his mum died, was always close to him for years, I dont know why you think thats some sort of weak or 'lazy' connection

I’m a very big “show don’t tell” kinda reader I guess. I like something concrete that allows me to understand why theyd be friends in the first place. Things specific between characters that feel personal to them like a specific kinda handshake or hobbies they share kinda like real friends.

Thats why I just generally dislike the childhood friend romance trope, because they all have very generic excuses for why they like each other which by itself isnt a big issue, but..

When the childhood friend chemistry is just one liking the other due to being childhood friends it feels like literally ANYONE ELSE could be said childhood friend. That their relationship is ultimately the plot forcing them together.

Those are my honest thoughts if you disagree thats honestly fine. Thanks for taking the time to respond either way.

I see, thats fair, thats just personal taste

but yeah thats the whole point of the childhood friend trope, its someone you grow together with and understand better than anyone. To be also fair this manga is not really a good example of a childhood friend heroine anyway I think the author wanted to make the 'teasing' type heroine who has no defenses when attacked abd also didnt show much of what happened in the past so there was no buildup, maybe there was a past arc planned and it got axed before that who knows.

Personally I like to see more childhood friend heroines because in the past this type of heroine was always used as someone to make the main heroine jealous or as some sort of gag character which I always hated haha.

They are literally childhood friends and you are asking for a 'connection'?

you mean slop is just another stupid word thats gets spammed by people like you online who has nothing else relevant to say

anything you dont like is now automatically 'slop' meanwhile browsing tiktoks all day.
I'm sorry for assuming you are able to understand things when explained.

i'm sorry that you love spamming the word 'slop' everywhere and expect everyone else to be the same
Look, it's fine if you feel angry because I called one of your favorite manga a slop (even though I'm right), but throwing a feminin tantrum is another thing...

Look its not fine that you end up calling everything you dont like 'slop' just because you read that word online and feel the need to spam it everywhere, clearly you are angry being called a sheep who has no independent thought

Throwing a tantrum over this is hilarious, thanks for the laughs.
