No need to go to Japan for that as long as it doesn't leak to the news even here in the West the "slap in the wrist", "sick leave", "got a sudden transfer" and stuff like that is a common practice for this kind of behavior, for each one that get to the news you have 4-5 that get wrapped up in private because nobody want to deal with the "shame" of having a victim in your family.

Sources : Personal experience and i "work" (more like i pay for the lawyers) with an association that deal with principally male victims of this kind behavior (female too but they have way more access to specialized resources for this thing), it's kinda fucking disgusting and make you lose faith in humanity. You're free to believe me or not.

I mean just to add onto the wrapped up in private thing, trails of this nature are fucking terrible. You have to go through a LOT in discovery alone, and more often things are either settled or just dropped, and that's if its a civil trail. If its a criminal trail, at least in the US, the burden of proof needs to be incredibly high and isn't just "consent was no". At least at the federal definition, consent needs to be no AND there needs to be forced used.
