i like to think a less lame explain for power is that yugo kurei imagination of how power work just translate into a really good body enchantment magic in fantasy world that just miraculously apply into armor too. so it turn armor into a power armor instead.

I'd simplify that: He understands - grew up with really, the concept of power-assist and power armor. To him the very fact that the armor's made to channel his magic makes this function 'obvious', and he runs around just giving it a bit of juice at all times.
Others focus on "make item do a specific action", so to them something like Blaster is just big and heavy all the time even if maybe you can have it do a big punch or kick, but then why wouldn't you just have just a gauntlet or boot?
