Adding these goofy Jojo poses at least gives us something to look at with the expository dialogue.
Oh sure, but you could make interesting 'serious' dialogue by just adding dramatic shadows and 'camera' angles. Hamming it up, but in a dramatic, not goofy, way.
I'm arguing that the tone is inconsistent, rather than the silly poses (or cartoon faces) themselves are bad.

We go from war crimes in one chapter, to dudes pulling dance moves and strutting their stuff every conversation in another.
You can have these clashing tones and themes in the same comic, but I don't think the author has juggled them very well... in my opinion anyway, I'm sure others think it's fine.
Nor am I saying the comic is bad, it's just critique, not hate - I even find the contrast rather amusing, though it's obviously not intentional.

That flat screen though... And what the hell with a futuristic laser weapon?...
Like they said, it's one that they smuggled from the Mirishial Empire, the most powerful magitech civilization in the Known World, using their reverse-engineered weapons from recovered Ancient Sorcerous Empire relics (remember the armor plate relic from the Ancient Sorcerous Empire that was used by that one knight in Chapter 14 was able to let a single human stay standing even after getting shot at by an M2 Browning).

The entire message throughout the series has been "just because you're on top right now, doesn't mean that there won't be an outside context problem landing off your coast tomorrow with a completely intact military and industrial tech base centuries ahead of your own".

so this thing is a laser flak.....
that's kinda different in the LN and WN wherein it uses magic ammunition composed of varying ratios of elements (fire, water, earth, wind, and thunder/lightning). Also, HME (Holy Milishial Empire) suffers the same problem, this time in making an armored vehicle. They can't produce a magicite engine small enough to propel the vehicle and at the same time generate power for the gun. That's one of Japan's and Gra Valkas' advantage over HME

Those dude doesn't know if 2-4 engine based aircraft still could fly even though half of their engine shut down, well at least it's better than missed, I would gib applause if that laser direct hit into F-2 tho

I see where US Navy is dumping their railgun from their Zumwalt class to.

hate to say this but that BP-3C managed to return to Iwakuni. And that AA? That's the only magic AA Parpaldia had, and an escorting F-2 bombed the location of the AA. At least we know the Parpies can make locomotives with their magicite engine tech tho...
Considering the magical based radar and cast iron cannons on the vessels, making steam engines is pretty much well within their capabilities,it would be extra odd if they couldn't.

Their next step,if they didn't piss off Japan, would've been steam ships.

If the higher-ups had just accepted that invitation to visit Japan, they could've made their magic train (thanks to their magicite engine research) by seeing the Shinkansen or the local lines. Sure they're not as fast as the Shinkansen, but on par or slightly better than the trains from Earth during the mid-to-late 1800s.

As for ships, yeah, they could've made their ironclad. Sure, they couldn't use the magicite engine to power the gun, but at least it could propel the ship, and they had to use their magic cannons (from their older magic ships-of-the-line) for the weapons, akin to that of the CSS Virginia. BTW, Magicite Engine-powered ships don't emit smoke, so they don't have smokestack/s. Yeah, maybe HME should've used physical ammunition (the usual tank ammunition but instead of gunpowder, crushed magicite is the propellant) if they were going to make tanks if they still didn't manage to miniaturize and make their magicite engine powerful and efficient enough to move their vehicle and at the same time serves as ammunition.

If only Ludius had just thrown away his hubris...

That laser cannon does not look like it is designed for anti air, unless the laser can stay on several seconds and it can move rapidly making it a CIWS. Generally you want rapid and/or wide fire for anti air, something like a rail gun mostly only works for the first shot unless it has amazing tracking.

Oooo, that'd be neat to see,the weight and space savings when you don't need to exhaust.

If only...

It's probably designed to detect and shoot down aircraft long before they can detect the railgun targeting it, dozens of miles away like Stonehenge in Ace Combat 4.
