Co-op is always the most fun. Having fun with the bois and being able to share so many great moments can't be matched in solo play. I will forever remember me and my friends getting our asses absolutely beat by Valstrax in monster hunter rise and laughing hysterically when to put the final cherry on top of the absolute shit sundae he was serving us, he dive-bombed us and wiped out our whole party. I'll remember that shit even on my deathbed.

On the other hand, solo play is better for learning the game, exploring, and getting better. That's why the best games have a mix of both.
