I don't see how he didn't blame the villagers for this if she went purely without food for days it would show quite clearly. So that means the villagers ignored this fact every time she went for rations. I mean it's really hard to not notice someone on the edge of dying from lack of eating. Sure they were distracted by the whole village getting ashed to death but, even then usually the younger ones are the priority for wellness since they aren't as sturdy as the older villagers.

Honestly, if you can't even feed the children in a time of need, what good are you as a village elder?

And this is why I typically mark manga that hasn't been updated in months as On Hold... Damn, the feels :(

That’s... that’s not how that works. That’s not how any of this works... I think the author severely underestimates our bodies capabilities to survive extreme conditions, with or without food. Water is needed, but food? Nowhere as important.

This death feels forced for extra drama. How long was she suffering from malnutrition? How long was MC sick and having her care for him? Without a timeline, just seems like the author wanted the sister dead.

I just want to point out that using logic for a fantasy work is kinda useless. You can say it's pointless, but logic kinda goes out the window in a world with monsters and magic.

And it's like everyone forgot that in the last chapter there was an ominous treasure map that led to a random temple, a monster, and ended with a volcano eruption almost immediately afterwards. I'm willing to bet the girl isn't really dead or that the death was influenced by the monster.

Either way, jumping to conclusions when you just see something is a bad move.

7 days without water and 30 days without food. That's the limit for normal human but she is just a little child. So her endurance much lower than that. So it won't be weird if she died of starvation
