I can't believe this has already ended. This was well put together, so every chapter was enjoyable. It was either meant to be this short (doubtful), or it got axed because it wasn't full of childish cliches and overused tropes (most likely). Hopefully, we see more like this... but longer! This was too damn short!
Uhhh... that's not how serialization works. There are plenty of cliche works out there that get as many volumes as they want. They just gotta sell.
It was meant to be this short. It's an adaptation and the adaptation team probably got clearance for 3 volumes (pretty standard) at the start. Ultimately they didn't sell enough volumes to get a continuation. The author and artist knew that they'd only have 3 volumes to work with and thus were able to give us a pretty satisfying (if open-ended) finale.
It was published in Comic Fire, which is Hobby Japan's advertisement imprint for their better known light novel branch HJ Bunko.
There's only so much that can be serialized at any one time, and a series needs to at least be as popular as Infinite Dendrogram, Isekai Ryouridou, An Archdemon's Dilemma: How to Love Your Elf Bride, Welcome to Japan, Elf-san!, Shinmai Ossan Bouken-sha, Seirei Gensouki, or Wortenia Senki to have a long-running serialization.
