Lovely artwork, lovely theme and subject (manga publishing and art skills development, a downer becoming better in social skills, etc), but these tropes and bottlenecks are almost obligatory to maintain commercial longevity in these genre.

Author could've done something amazing and inserted Miyamoto friends as supporters now, though.

Ah, this is why I hate the majority of romance manga. They spend several chapters progressing the relationship, only to deny everything that happened, going back to zero progress.





At least in Danger in My Heart, the male and female leads don’t deny their progress—they have the courage to embrace what they did and stand by it.

Not really at the same level. Here, the female lead has the guts to kiss his cheeks but doesn’t have the courage to admit her intentions/feelings. Yamada/Ichikawa on the other hand wouldn’t really backtrack anything they did. Sure, they might fumble and get awkward but they wouldn’t chicken out.
