I strongly suspect that in the source Japanese, things were very specific. But in English, that specificity cannot be recreated. Thus you have riddles where tons of answers apply in order to get to the lewd joke. But yeah, having random "correct" answers for a riddle does take one out of things somewhat. Riddles are designed to be very specific.

Nah, the riddles in Japanese were impossible to translate 1 to 1 into English, because they used stuff like 'Begins with these letters' or 'Ends with that letter'
We tried our best to adjust them, but some of them we had to change completely because of that. That's why our version might seem a bit off.
