This is so ass. I even regret buying a 40 series. I guess it is good for local AI if you have the budget, but for gayming, it's just fake frames.

550 Watts TDP, a 1 terabyte memory bandwitch, 16000 ALUs, a beast of power (not only computing power). All of that to play future games on a shitty Unreal Engine 5 with ugly graphics, because the AI upscaling-TAA combo makes everything blurry as fuck, and at 60 Fps max because that's how it is nowadays. Because optimizing is not a word developpers know today, especially UE5 devs.

Can someone invent time travel so i could return in the 2000's, please ?

I don't really care about the whole AI stuff since I run everything on servers and cloud,
and I don't really play games a lot anymore.

But I'm currently still rocking my i5, 1080Ti, and unsupported Win11 rigs,
so I have long decided to buy a new computer this year.

And these 50 series might be a candidate, depending on how the reviews go.

PC noob here.

What does "x AI tops" mean here, exactly? As in, C.AI, ChatGPT, Pilot, Cortana; stuff like that?
Also:
:dogkek:
AI TOPS stands for Tera Operations Per Second which measures a GPU's ability to handle AI tasks like NNC. Higher AI TOPS means better performance for AI workloads.

Also, it's not exactly for stuff like running ChatGPT but running the AI models behind ChatGPT. like imagine, AI is like cooking a feast, and the AI model (eg. ChatGPT) is the recipe. AI TOPS is how many stoves and burners you have to cook everything at once.

You don't need much. Bideo games look good enough and those that run terribly, like starwars outlaws or shadow of chornobly aren't the sort of game I would play.

Jensen the square faced mofo has an obsession with high FPS in cyberpunk. Game looks good enough in 1440p high settings, and I get 90 FPS. No RT, no DLSS.

That's why I haven't upgraded until now. And it has it been like 7-8 years?
The last "big" game I played was I think RE4 remake.
I'm in the philosophy of "if it's not broken, don't fix it".

But it has come to the point that I need to upgrade to Win11 very soon.
So if I really have to upgrade, I might as well get the best specs I can get so it can last for another 8 years.
(I mean, that's what I did with my current PC)

Jensen at CES 2025 be like:
Starting from today, call me Capitain Nvidia

Jokes aside, if i need buy a GPU in the future, i will probably going on the 5070.
The performance/price ratio is good. And, if Nvidia is not lying, i would probably can do some heavy machine learning on it.
It will be not as fast as the 5090 but I think something good.

And speaking of gaming,
Since the only game I play is Genshin, ZZZ and Terrafirmacraft, I wouldn't be bad to play them from 30fps to 120 fps.
