It seems like the mother wanted her child to be a son as a replacement for the dead husband. but since it was a girl they're hoping the mc will give the daughter a boy so that they can raise him to replace the original husband. hence the title "welcome back papa"

They both are deeply in love with "Papa"(not hiroto). The mom said that she(the daughter) looks like "papa". From such statement and the things that have been going so far, we can assume that they're trying to make a replacement for "papa" (Which is currently gone, probably dead) by having the daughter bear a male child that hopefully carry the traits of "papa" from her.

The more I read this manga, the more I wonder if I'm masochist deluding myself into believing that we are going to have something that isn't just pure psychological from this crazy mother and daughter duo, and what horrors they have in store for the guy by put more and more of a wedge between him and his social circles.
