Single moms are a landmine hazard: It's one thing if she's a widow who lost her husband to an accident or in the line of duty, but the usual case with a history of failed marriage(s) does not inspire confidence.
Why did the previous marriage(s) not work out? Did she turn into a bitch? Did she cheat? Did she just get bored? Does she have commitment issues? Was the guy the problem?: (i.e. she married a scumbag - that's her type and she will cheat when she finds another.) Was she so intolerable that she drove her husband to suicide? Did she cash out his life insurance after he died under suspicious circumstances? Did she try to make a lifelong commitment with someone she wasn't sure she's compatible with? Is she doing it again? Or worse: was she never married and - without making any commitment - just going around and casually banging the kind of scumbags who disappear as soon as they have to raise a child? (Which will continue after your marriage and you'll end up raising more children who are not yours.) Is her ex still in the picture to be another potential bad influence on your children and stepchildren? Does she respect you enough to let you discipline your stepchildren, or will she turn her back on you and take the wrong side when her "little angel" becomes a rotten brat?
Just say NO to single moms and you won't have to navigate this minefield. I've seen enough good men get their lives destroyed by stepping on one of these landmines. It's not worth it.
Despite what I said the first part of this post - gentlemen, don't put your dick in crazy! The hot/crazy scale is a myth. No amount of hot can ever repair the consequences of the crazy once the damage is done.

He got married due to pressure, and got shit on for it even though he likes his marriage and hoped others would be happy for him. Now he's getting pressured to have his own child, but all he can think about is how he got shit on for marrying a single mother. Is it really worth risking his wife's health just for others approval? Is it right to have a chuld just for that? He's happy with his new wife, and he's happy with his new daughter after all.
That's the feeling I get anyways.
This might even be all part of the oyakadon keikaku. Might not even be a sex thing. The oyakadon team might actually be just trying to test to see if our MC will break instead of becoming a loving husband and good father. Unfortunately, they seem to be doing it by beating him with red flags.
We have proof at least that the recent ex-Papa wasn't murdered by them after all. Ex-Papa assumedly broke under the stress in similar circumstances of marrying a single mother, and became an alcoholic because of it.
We also have proof the daughter tricked her bitchy classmate into being raped and kidnapped though....
