For Iruha, i agree with Singulo. How You Hui-na messages friendly with Iruha opened another part of Past Iruha . Maybe she do have friend, atleast bussiness friend in Limu9 and it only stop bcuz she got cyberbully.

Wonjin said it best as an idol you have to work as a team. We never heard much about the other members because of Iruha, but its clear she doesn't hold any hate for them.

Hopefully Kim Yoil can learn to get on with Suryeon and Izumi...but Izumi does seem a little volatile.

I don't watch or read a lot of idol media besides Perfect Blue (a similar concept with an idol suffering from self identity due to the system) but I'm gonna lob a free throw and predict the ending since I'm picking up the vibe it might go down a similar route that To Be Hero X did.

Sanghyeon / Yoil officially debuts, probably does a lot of press photos, modeling shoots (PR stuff) and garnishes a lot of attention. This fuels Jeong's contempt for Yoil which has been building up for the last few chapters and she discovers Yoil’s true identity. Yoil gets exposed for leading a double life / being a man (from either Jeong, a stalker like in Ruha’s arc, or someone else), people are deceived and potentially angry especially since people absolutely love idol's personal lives for some reason. Sanghyeon has to give up the mantle of Yoil. But the identity exposure doesn't crumble Sanghyeon as a person because we've seen time and time again he truly pushes himself to the brink to achieve his dreams (getting nose bleeds by pushing both of his bodies too far, embarrassing himself by losing his masculine features). It forces Sanghyeon to take front stage because he literally has no other option left. Thematically it fits as well, because Sanghyeon’s characteristic is perseverance and the only way to demonstrate that is by breaking the character's comfortability and stability (we dub this, the Spider-Man effect). And instead of trying to rebuild Yoil or apologize for existing, he just keeps doing what he’s always done. Working, pushing, grinding, even if it means embarrassing himself or trying to win an uphill battle. He’s already proven he’ll go to the brink for his goals.

A side note as well;
The reason I believe he won't try to reclaim Yoil as his persona is based purely on his method of using her in the first place. It was never about a psychological or emotional aspect, rather a means to justify the ends. If he had become an attractive man, the story’s plot points would play out the exact same. His transformation was never truly integral to his goals. It was only integral towards his internal change. A catalyst rather than a closing remark (if the plot point of being able to transform into your past selves wasn't introduced, Sanghyeon would still be chasing his dream).

Towards the end of the story people finally see him. Without Yoil’s face shielding him, the raw effort becomes visible. The industry, fans, even the people who were angry, they can’t deny the talent and drive that was there the whole time. The persona and idol the public knew may have been “a false pretense”, but the work behind it never was. Yoil essentially “dies” or retires (and the impact of her death, figuratively and physically, will hit us hard since we've seen a majority of the chapters with Sanghyeon as Yoil), but Sanghyeon doesn't. He keeps moving forward and whether or not the world decides to move with him, he's pushing no matter what. I truly believe, even if I get this totally wrong, that Sanghyeon’s one defining trait and characteristic isn't Yoil, but his persistence and ability to change into a better person. Where the conclusion and theme of the entire story is not transformation but continuation through self assertion, where Sanghyeon isn't being changed or hardwired to be someone else but finally being seen as him. A very good ending in my thinking is Sanghyeon accepting that he cannot hide forever behind a more marketable version of himself. Not because being Yoil was worthless (literally the most integral part of the entire story is Yoil), but because eventually he has to exist as himself and accept whatever consequences come with that. It would put a nice little bow towards an overarching message on how idols change themselves and lose essential parts that make them them (and how that's kind of a bad thing).

Also looking back on Geukjang’s (author) other really really good webtoon A Savior's Time, where the theme and takeaway lesson is that escapism isn't a solution to your problems, I feel like this story is gearing towards a very similar status quo. We've seen Sanghyeon adapt and become Yoil in many ways, but Yoil is still and will forever be seen as a form of escape from the mistakes that Sanghyeon has made in the past. To truly come to terms with himself and his mistakes, escaping isn't the true answer. Although, knowing from Geukjang, the ending may be really bittersweet. Where the world doesn't actually accept Sanghyeon as himself and he never truly achieves his dream but still persists despite it all.

Oh and Lee Ruha is endgame.

This is a common theme in idol stories, the idea that the persona needed to become a top idol is built on a fake foundation, and that the idol's real side always has to remain hidden, often at a great cost. It does make perfect sense if the story headed down the route you describe.

But right now, it seems to be heading towards a subversion of that theme. The ending of this last arc had a realization that many parts of Yoil's personality are real in some way, even the exaggerated parts that started off as fake. The balance of being able to keep a cool personality (the base Sanghyun persona, what we would normally consider the real one) but also being someone who can stand out and be admired (a long held desire that Sanghyun didn't even realize was there until recently) is something that only Yoil might be able to carry out.

At least, I'm not convinced the Yoil side would be thrown away like that even if it's made public. Especially since there was a pretty long backstory shown about the past life as Yoil. If the eventual plan was for the past life gender change to only be a plot device to force Sanghyun into certain choices, then that backstory wasn't necessary. The bath bomb could have easily been introduced as a macguffin item that just conveniently exists without much explanation (like his grandmother just having had it as an heirloom or something).

The reveal that the Parang CEO also knows about it, and was likely the person who singled out Sanghyun as a test subject, almost as if he knew it would work on him, is something that I think reinforces the idea that Yoil is here to stay.

The funniest love triangle is back let's freaking gooooooo, and finally we get YOUhui real name is actually Yoo Heena.

Btw already say this in the discord but I just realized this, so when we saw Su-ryeon flashback in 2 chapters ago, something felt weird to me. Didn't Suryon have 5 years of experience as a trainee and that mean was when she was 15 (13-14) years old when she's becoming a trainee. Something that always felt weird to me is, didn't Hyo-jeong say that she was in Summer Girl 3 years ago and only lasted 1 year as an idol? Is this a retcon?.

Then I read Han Yo-il's wiki and found out that in chapter 19, izumi say that Su-ryeon came to PLOUD after Izumi and probably transferred from another agency. And that makes perfect sense to me, that means she's transferred the same year as Hyo-jeong or a year after that.

That means her personality become bad after joining ploud for some unknown reason, what the hell is happening in that 1/2 years

Much better take than the OP I personally think the series has been pretty faithful to the brutal reality of the idol industry. There is no way Kim would ever make it as an idol in the male K-pop industry just because of his looks and no matter how talented he is the whole industry would not change over night due to one guy. I think if it went the route the OP suggested it would ruin everything built up till now.

Great chapter but Yoil/Kim did really fumble the bag with Izumi hopefully they can make up.

That's great news for me cause it just means that there is still alot planned for this series. Plus, I felt like it was evident from the art that the author is clearly getting a little burnt out, they need the break.

We haven't seen either of them for an entire arc. I'm glad they're back. The juxtaposition between Sanghyun worrying about messaging right away after Yoil and Ruha stubbornly trying to play hard to get when she's down bad to get his attention is too good.

I do want some happiness for Sanghyun though. Some money in his pocket and some love in his life. That and rekindling his friendship with his high school junior. Poor guy still things she ignored him right to his face.

Aww, it ended just before we could learn more. On one hand I'm happy because it gives Sanghyun more agency in the story. But at the same time, I'm having a hard time imagining why management would make this decision. It says 'Artist support team' does that mean he will be around the other trainees? Why make such a risk especially when they already know that Soae Park is a classmate of Sanghyuan.

Also as a side note, that small frame of Sanghyuan huddling in his little bath tub was really funny.

I think maybe it's because if he'll be transforming at the company with the new perfume, hell have an official reason to be there as Sanghyun. I doubt they're giving him more actual work on top of all he already does as Yoil.

I'm very curious about Sanghyun's new job at Ploud. Since it's Ploud specifically and not Parang, does that mean he might interact with the trainees as Sanghyun? That seems very risky given that Soae has pretty much already made the connection between him and Yoil. On the flip side maybe him building a rapport with them as Sanghyun might serve as insurance in case his identity as Yoil ends up leaking to some of them (like eventual fellow debut team members). If they have a positive relationship with Sanghyun, they might be more receptive/forgiving towards him being Yoil.

Also if season 1 is ending in 4 chapters does that mean he made the debut team? With season 2 being preparing to debut and becoming an actual idol?

Kim Sanghyun definitely needs that ID card. There are only so many ways in which he can be around the company without making people suspicious of him, so this is a step in the right direction if they want to keep the charade going.

Also, he needs better excuses. Izumi's angry disappointment is bad enough, but it's hardly the first time he hasn't known how to react.

I'm surprised that neither him nor Manager Han or anyone else who knows his secret has made plans to design a fake identity for Han Yoil that is, at the same time, conveniently linked to Kim Sanghyun ("we're cousins", "stepsiblings", "half-siblings", etc.). Would have solved lots of issues with Lee Ruha, and will solve more if she debuts. Because what will happen if Yoil becomes famous and people start asking questions about her background?

The way they've set it up is,that Yoil is related to the manager, her name for example.

Also the manager treating her like her own daughter is quite noticeable.

Its another reason Suryeon doesn't like her though because she believes their related hence her comments about Nepotism
