As always, the OSO game world makes no sense regarding player levels or skill strengths.

Here we have Taku doing pretty much everything solo with the MC assisting via enchant, but then we immediately see comparisons showing that the actual effectiveness of MCs enchant is actually worse than a random player accessory item. This chapter right here makes you stop and realize that even with the story hyping up the MC's party contributions via enchants in every event so far, that in reality the MC has in effect been little more than a cheerleader in the background in actual effectiveness.

The world of OSO must have crazy benefits and little to no difficulty penalty adjustments from playing in a party otherwise I can't imagine why anyone would ever agree to party with people not holding effective combat sense builds considering the massive difference between them in the field.

hang on, debuff and damage ointments...smear that stuff on your weapons and see if you can apply it to enemies temporarily that way, yeah? that could have some pretty powerful effects if used correctly, I mean weakness to an element AND extra effects like DoT applied at will. that'd work really well, especially for an archer or someone who uses thrown weapons. I could see a ninja type using that slime jelly applied to kunai/shuriken and a dark infused katana for their main damage source.

@frungy bear in mind, it says she can't make stronger effects IN THE FIELD, but she can make better quality items in her workshop from the same ingredients. also, her buff skills have been proven to be very good compared to most other players' buffs, so she actually is helping out quite a bit in combat. furthermore, the buff cream she made stacks with the accessory resist, so instead of buying a single high resist item you can buy a mid resist item and supplement the effect at need with the cream, sure if you do that for too long, it ends up cheaper to buy the good item, but if you only need it for a couple event raids or to clean up some quests in a specific area you don't normally go to, cheaper is better

@InsaneInsomniac The item buffs wasn't the question though, the question is the absurd imbalance between characters in the field. As we saw in this chapter, his enchant was the same buff level as the accessory (status level "weak", vs item cream had status level "min"). Hence my question, if the level of the buff provided is defined by the system itself as buff level "weak" and was equivalent to the random accessory Taku had, it again seems to have rather low value.

If we're talking min-max characters to whom ANY buff is awesome then sure, but in general play, small time buffs are utterly worthless when you only need a few hits to kill things anyway. Add on to that the fact that the accessory that Taku had is highly likely to be a low tier random item, then it further brings into question the practical value character builds like MCs would bring to a field party.

Again, I'm not saying anything bad about the MC here, the items he makes could be quite helpful to others, I'm just saying that the direct contribution level of the MC in party combat are likely to be HIGHLY overstated for dramatic effect.
