@azerez Right? It's not like they're trapped in the game, you don't die in real life if you die in the game. It's just PvP, what's the big deal?

There is a whole different scope between someone killing you in a game that's on a screen and a game where your actually inside it. Even if the consequences are minimal, your natural reaction would be to get worried about dying or for the person dying.

VR is a whole different experience than anything that can be shown on a monitor.

@Narehate it is just the way its drawn. Yun is completely female in game, its mentioned tons in the beginning of the manga and in the LN. Yun cant even go into male areas and even goes into the female side of the demon hotsprings.

@Kodakowl its skipped over in the manga but in Only Sense there are penalties. One being the person who PKs you gets all your money that you have on you, you get a long lasting res sickness if killed by another player, you loose any accumulated experience and a few others. Pkers are kept in check in game by a debuff that labels them a pk which means NPCs wont serve them, guards will attack them and because player crafters refuse to sell them items. This means they can't get food, potions or have their armour repaired.

I think I already talked about this, but do eastern MMORPG work in a completely different way from the western ones? In all the western MMOs I have played, PK was a fairly regular thing, to the point that any guy who was bored or just happened to find an enemy player would do it. PKers weren't seen in a negative light, other than being called assholes occasionally if they went after low-leveled players, and most people agreed PKing was just part of the game.

Yet, whenever I see a manga about a VRMMO or a regular MMO, PKers are seen as this completely evil thing and they are always sadistic psychopaths who don't just PK ocasionally but rather focus solely on that. They are also always seen as evil villains and treated as if they were some sort of IRL murderous gang.

It feels really weird and makes me think the authors were butthurt because they got killed while playing an MMO, but maybe PKing is a completely evil thing in eastern MMOs and I just lack knowledge about it, so I hope someone can enlighten me on that matter.
