What's her deal ? If her husband is using her like a fucktoy then it sounds like she's getting what she wants.
We don't have a valid reason yet for why she'd start an affair. or for why she'd start an affair but not want ot leave her husband.
And if she wanted a guy to dominate her she could easily find a tone of guys into that on dating apps who are more into that than gomi.
If she's attracted to Gomi being a kind of beta pervert who steals period pads then why does she also want to be dominated ?
if she didn't find Gomi being a "virgin" with no experience with women besides prostitutes a turn on then why choose him as an affair partner when she could have chosen a masculine, experienced, dominant, alpha man?

Does she just superficially get turned on by and attracted to a bunch of opposing things?

also, that old jealous coworker taking pictures of yumezora seems like he's going a bit far. It would only make sense to take pictures of Gomi and yumezora if you thought that you could blackmail or damage yumezora's reputation, and pictures of her dating Gomi could only do that if she was married, and he'd only know that she was married if he was already stalking her or he knew her/her husband independently.

not necessarily. that "rape" might just be a normal thing that they do and is agreed by both of them, but is being hidden from the audience for now. If she's into being choked then she might be into rape fantasies and told her husband that she's into being drunkenly overpowered and taken by him in the past and is ok with him doing that to her whenever he wants.

I think the art communicates pretty well that she's not at all into what her husband is doing - she's scared/horrified then checked out & thinking marriage isn't for her - vs very into what Gomi is doing.

Which, it's not uncommon for women who've been assaulted to have rape fantasies. For these women, rape fantasies are generally about control over consent - the women is ultimately calling the shots about how far the guy will go (or in media aimed at women he often intuits it and that's why dub-con is a thing). Basically, it's more likely that she's doing the rape play w/ Gomi b/c her husband is assaulting her and she wants to reclaim agency.

Which also answers the "why Gomi?" question - he's safe, gentle, adores her, and is easy to manipulate, so she trusts him to not violate her consent.

Actually, fun fact, adultery can be tried in Japan.

While adultery in itself is not a crime, a victim of adultery can use adultery to seek a compensatory settlement (慰藉料) for offense to their honor/psychological damages. It's usually granted, too, provided you can prove it.

This is why, in Japan, if you are getting divorced over adultery, you absolutely want to hand in hard evidence of it so you can get extra settlement money.

i mean, if you got arrested for kissing/sleeping another person, arrest would be a bit extreme even if it's shitty (unless it's without consent of course)

at most maybe you'd have to pay legal fees but wouldn't be surprised if places had a 'morality clause' to where you'd get fired if not hard for one to keep working at a same place after being ostracized or ppl not wanting to work with them
