Only way to avoid Yumezora being a psychotic b*tch is if she didn't tell her husband about hte tape and he somehow found it anyway or something.

I mean all in all he got off easy for being a total freak at work, he can just start over somewhere else since his work place didn't pursue any formal measures against him, in a way he got lucky technically all he has to do is deal with assault husband and then the hard part is convince Yumezora to be with him instead

But he kind of avoided getting burned despite playing with fire and gasoline

Gomi only had his word as accusations, nothing really to show for other than that one time Yumezora failed her makeup, and another of Yumezora's stalkers noticed, so it is just Gomi and a stalker eyewitness, which are not impactful enough evidence to grab people's attention

However that doesn't means the bruise came from the husband, and without Yumezora confirming as the victim that she is being abused Gomi doesn't has anything other than his own word to back his claims

And his word is on the negative value after the husband projected his toilet activities for everyone to see

They also ignored the fact that Yumezora installed a spy-cam in the office bathroom which is another grievance

This chapter alone has a wife beater, Gomi who is his own piece of work, and Yumezora all doing a bunch of infractions, but out of the 3 only Gomi and Yumezora have video evidence of their own transgressions, the husband is an alleged abuser for something that constitutes a family and personal matter, something the company can't intervene in, specially since they would also have to address the affair, the spy-cam, etc, which would put Yumezora in conflict with the company, so they couldn't intervene either for the sake of an employee, and risk doing themselves more harm by having the story go public, so for that side there are no incentives to take action

They would have to ignore everything and proceed to make a civil intervention as individuals with no affiliations, and denounce the husband as a third party, and then it would all fall all over again on Yumezora's hands to see if she lets the case proceed or not, that alone is too much work in order to intervene in something that is happening amid a work and affair scandal

Also Yumezora being the mentally broken and extremely victimized person that she is, didn't capitalize on the moment by confirming Gomi's accusations, which hurts her case even more, because her word would have given a lot of weigh to the claims

More over Yumezora never made any close relationships with anyone in the company other than Gomi, which was a secret affair off work, that means no one is close enough to Yumezora to circumvent the shock of Gomi straigth up yorking it at work, and then go the extra mile to intervene for Yumezora, the other female employees were always dismisive of Yumezora and had petty hostilities towards her, and the other male employees were either neutral or also perverts like Gomi, no one would be concerned or invested enough to check on her or confirm what Gomi said, even more after learning that she started an affair with a man that was masturbating with her menstraul pads at work, the disgust people feel for Gomi would extend to Yumezora for not denouncing Gomi and instead start an affair with him

So you would need someone to break the bystanderd effect, someone to get over their digust for Gomi and Yumezora for dating Yomi and for installing spycams on the office's batroom, they would also have to be at least on a neutral disposition towards Yumezora, the other 2 pervers stalkig Yumezora won't do it, it would have to be at minimum someone like either the Chairman or Gomi's friend

The problem here is that Gomi's friend is processing the fact that the guy he knew of 8 years is well Gomi being Gomi, and the Chairman has to deal first with the crap that is Gomi being Gomi putting the reputation of the company at risk, after all that is settled, which could take weeks, Gomi actions are really that much of a danger, maybe, they will go "Huh that part about Yumezora's husband beating her, maybe I should do something about that? how?"

The how at the end may kill off what little iniciative they may have, because the answer is Gomi's word and Yumezora's testimony, which both are unreliable, but a week or more after all this, no one will be thinking about Gomi, in fact his accusations without any backing from Yumezora just came off as an excuse for him to justify an affair, which lowers the chances of anyone doing anything even more

And for the chief he also has to worry about blackmail, the abusive husband can just sell the video to the press, or public it only, and weaponize it againts the company, specially since they decided to keep it all hush hush, and just let Gomi go without pursuing any other measures

A bomb exploded in their office, and everyone there is probably glad that they still have an office despite it all

Legit that's kind of what Gomi would need to do, but probably something more big and sturdy like a chair would be better for this case, properly using a knife requires technique, and if he drops it or the knife is taken from him, now he will be the one at risk of being stabbed, and assault husband looks stronger than Gomi, so he really needs something that puts distance between them, but that can also pack a punch, the excuses for self defense are for later, right now he kind of should be concerned about surviving and being able to leave the appartment, following them was a huge mistake on his part, if the husband is secretly even more unhinged he could be getting killed

Honestly I suspect at least one person is going to die before the end of this.

I think the happiest ending possible is the ML and FL murdering the FL's husband in "self-defense" and then getting arrested & imprisoned, where the FL gets some form of psychiatric help (assuming that's a thing in the justice system of Japan - not holding my breath on that).

Otherwise I fear she's gonna die, he'll get maimed, and the husband will just carry on because he managed to keep a lid on his violent tendencies until they were in the comfort and privacy of his own home.

What a godawful manga. Glad I found this one.

I am not sure why getting arrested is actually good for the ML in this.

At first I tought Yumezora was a bitch, but now that we know her story, I understand her better and feel bad about her.
Gomi did some nasty shit, but you can argue he truly loves and worries about Yumezora.
I get it, all the characters are flawed in this story. But MAN. MAN.
The husband is absolutely disgusting. Is not a villain you "like to hate", or something like that. It's just disgusting.

And everyone else in this story is stupid. How tf to they forget about the abuse when they see some disgusting fetish. Ok, mob characters would do it, BUT THE FUCKING BOSS TOO?
I hate it when, for a story/villain to work, everyone must be stupid. Ugh

I mean, jacking off at work using another employee's tampon is such a massive violation of multiple values that I would bet you a pre-HR office would still fire you.
While the pre-70s might have tolerate ass-grabbing and flirting, being caught masturbating to a women's bloodstained rag or tampon would have got you beat or fired regardless.
We are forgetting that the husband is not an employee, and that is what matters. Also, by normal social dynamics, a husband or wife who physically abuse each other are still "within" their respective domains.

Everything up to this point does not lead me to thinking that this will have an actual happy, problem-free ending for the two main characters. Even the allusion to the heroine manga that Kuroko read as a child, makes me think that her "princess' tale" will be a perversion of that story formula.

I honestly just hope she and Gomi come out the other end of this alive. Beyond that, I don't really expect things to be sunshine and rainbows, for them.

I am a martial artist. Knives always beat unarmed. I can go into graphic detail into both personal injuries I have received from knives and martial artist I knew that was killed by an amateur with a knife. Or you can watch this:

The best case scenario for martial artist vs untrained amateur with a knife is they both wind up in the hospital.

Now, this is a manga, but it's been a consistently realistic one.

Everyone knows women don't actually perform actions and anything they do is always the result of their circumstances and therefore not their fault. What's wrong with you? Gomi was the first character to have his transgressive habits explained by his issues, Yumezora was just the next one, and happened to have her reasons explored much more extensively.
The misogyny comes when commenters like you continue to hold her primarily resposible and ignore the past several chapters in favor of infantalizing all the male characters.
