In Japan, the penalty for conviction of "aiding suicide or consensual homicide" is 6 months to 7 years. So he received the maximum sentence for consensual homicide, which is not to be confused for attempted murder. Yumezora would have been the one to receive the "attempted murder" charge, probably because of the knife in Jirou's chest.

It would have been good if we were ease into the ending... I like this ending honestly, it's fitting but the way the author went about it was NOT right.
Same. This is fine for a final chapter but what the hell was the final part of the previous one. If you wanted a tragedy with Moyupu commiting murder followed by suicide, that's one thing. What happened was just... that.
Still don't regret reading and enjoyed this rollercoaster.

I feel like I'm meant to be sad right now but I can't get past the revelation that last chapter actually wasn't a dream.
(The entire manga is really good if you ignore the ending of the last chapter)

Well Kuroko got the happy ending she always wanted, I couldn't think of an ending better fit for her. I also really like the implication that Gomi was the one who wrote / made this Manga, as a way to share their child with the world, overall it was a pretty solid ending, there was no way they would end up happy.

this guy really does just write his manga like a child in the 7th grade — dude just comes up with an idea for an ending then makes up some random bull to fill the gaps and calls it a day

does this manga make sense? no. is it good? no.

but it is unintentionally one of the funniest endings i've read in a while like what do YOU MEAN a half dead man just travels to jakarta and somehow finds them to do a "lover's" suicide and then we just timeskip and bro writes a manga about it like LMAOO

could've been an interesting take on wound licking, abuse and perceived ""ownership"" in relationships but instead we got whatever this is

As painful as this ending is, compared to Mangaka's last work the MC actually has a chance to bounce back and live a decent live. He pushed through the pain of losing the love of his life and immortalized her through his art.

Hell he's only 38 so he has time to find another relationship that isn't unstable.

Yeah I was sort of hoping MC would have lived on in Indonesia and restarted his life with a Bali QT3.14.

small chance of finding a woman of reproductive age and having kids with her though. He could do it if he was willing to make some sacrifices but he probably isn't willing to make those so will just cope about something already over for the rest of his life.
The "MC" in the last manga could have done the same in theory, plus the "MC" in the last manga already had a child so at least his bloodline will continue (although likely wither to nothing over time since he and his kids will likely be below replacement fertility, and you need to have >2 kids each on average for you and all your descendants if you want your genes to grow in number not decline in number and wither to nothing).
Also, the real MC of Even though I'm not 15 anymore was the young mother and she got a tough but hopeful ending with the greatest gift of all.

Now hold on. Manga has told me if he goes into teaching or becomes a white collar department supervisor he's got a very good shot at landing a girl with plenty of reproductive years ahead of her.
