Yeah I was sort of hoping MC would have lived on in Indonesia and restarted his life with a Bali QT3.14.

The MC isn't COOKED. He's only 38 by the time leaves prison. He can still meet someone new who hopefully doesn't have the same baggage as Yumi. The tampon incident aside the MC is overall a decent human being so he actually has hope when it comes to turning his life around.

small chance of finding a woman of reproductive age and having kids with her though. He could do it if he was willing to make some sacrifices but he probably isn't willing to make those so will just cope about something already over for the rest of his life.
The "MC" in the last manga could have done the same in theory, plus the "MC" in the last manga already had a child so at least his bloodline will continue (although likely wither to nothing over time since he and his kids will likely be below replacement fertility, and you need to have >2 kids each on average for you and all your descendants if you want your genes to grow in number not decline in number and wither to nothing).
Also, the real MC of Even though I'm not 15 anymore was the young mother and she got a tough but hopeful ending with the greatest gift of all.

Personally I think the MC should find a woman around his age. Realistically that is his best option because older women are more emotionally mature and just have more tools to handle a guy his age. Besides the Mangaka mad it clear that relationships with huge age gaps ARE VERY BAD! And I highkey agree with that

okay honestly im all for these "hah gotcha" endings, but you mean to tell me that this man effectively on deaths door recovers enough (????) to leave the hospital randomly, find out that the heroine fucked off to indonesia, and effectively ghosted her life, managed to find her on a very very specific flower field? I understand there were missing posters out for her, but what the hell?

This just seems like a total copout BS riddled ending. Wonder if this was axed too early or something. Normally I wouldnt be this salty over the ending, i think everyone here knew that there was NEVER going to be a happy ending, but holy shit at least make it KIND OF believable!

I've realised that since Gomi had that realisation about wanting to have a child with Yumezora, that means there's a chance that he realises that the most important thing in life is having kids, and that since he can't actually have kids with Yuemzora anymore since she's dead and drawings aren't real children, that means that there's a chance he realises that what he needs to do to is find a woman he can actually have children with.
