Ohhhh...The ending is kinda ass. "Watashi ga 15-sai de wa Nakunatte mo" ending is far better than this.

He got arrested for presumably either helping with the murder attempt, or helping her escape, depending on point of view and what a court could prove.

38, convicted criminal, no social skills, Vegeta ass hairline. He's not just cooked, he's carbonized fam
He has social skills it's just that he had 0 self esteem. Also he got convicted for trying to kill a wife beater WHO WENT ON TO KILL HIS WIFE! So that's a easy story to frame himself as the good guy because he literally was the good guy in that situation. As for the Vegeta hair line.... I'm sorry but Gomi needs to cut his loses and go bald, maybe he can grow a decent beard
the thing is that a marriages or relationships started between two old people who can't have kids anymore are basically the same as getting a dog for companionship. They're trivial and aren't real,
Bruv that's a really weird view on relationships and you should seek help for that.

I guess in some way, this was the best possible ending.

Gomi only had to do 7 years, managed to build up a bit of savings, has the will to live on and became a mangaka.

Kuroko died at the prime of her life and is released from the hell that she has been in.

Yet, from a story perspective, this is all shit and the final arc was terribly written.

- None of it was a dream, the husband was actually Terminator. Did not die from stab wounds, managed to recover quickly, tracked down Kuroko in a densely populated country and somehow killed both in a single clean strike.

- Gomi doing 7 years for what? Self defense against a person who is known to abuse their wife and even ended up killing her? Her medical records, neighbors, etc can all testify how violent the husband is.

Feels like the mangaka has no idea how to end this so they just created a bunch of artificial drama.

Regardless, what started to be a "why am i reading this" manga turned out to be somewhat interesting one that kept me on the hook every week, then reverted back to another kind of "why am I reading this". Feels pretty 7/10-ish manga.

I dunno man that hairline is a really tough sell
Not for a woman his age b/c a lot of the guys his age have that hairline. Which, she can still have kids if she hasn't hit menopause (usually early 50s) and older parents aren't uncommon in Japan.

But I think the ending made clear that Gomi fulfilled his wish for a child by telling his (ETA: their) story. I think for him particularly it also shows growth b/c old Gomi would have never thought his story had any value, much less enough to put out there for someone else to gain from.

If it's weird then why does almost everyone in the world choose to enter a relationship with a fertile member of the opposite sex over an infertile one? That's normal, the opposite of weird. Hopefully you grow up a bit and realise it.
I mean this in the most affectionate way possible dude. PLEASE touch some grass. Make friends of both genders and find hobbies that help you grow as q person. Your current view on relationships will rot you to the core

Great argument, you sure showed how 99% of the world's population that prefers fertile partners over infertile partners is actually out of touch and needs to "touch grass" .

Moral of the story: If you're trying to kill a fucking tank like Moyupu make sure to decapitate him
It's like cautious hero, double tapping is not enough, make sure you absolutely obliterate that motherfucker.

I feel like this ending could have worked if they didn't go to another country, don't get me wrong it's very possible for a crazy stalker to find you, I've seen cases of stalking where the fucker did seem to find the victim on an Impossible to find place but normally there is something believable for them to trace, like social media posts(which these two criminals don't make), banking records(she withdrew everything, how could he know what she was using the money for?) so overall this ending last chapter has a conclusion isn't bad but her murder was, it was simply funny how her husband literally teleported to where they were, because of the absurdity I couldn't do anything but laugh which I really doubt was the author intention.
Overall a 4/10 maybe 5/10 manga, genuinely interesting in the beginning even if degenerate but simply couldn't keep up the greatness until the end.

So is the implication that this was based on a true Story? Lmao. Can't wait for that disclaimer before the anime adaptation /s

I thought manga/anime was already rubbish enough, but this is pure garbage. What on earth happened in the final chapters? Anyway, forget about this trash; the author was trolling from the start.
At least I appreciated the oyakodon moment, but everything else in the story is utter nonsense.

Wow, so last chapter wasn't a dream after all! That's so ass.

Don't get me wrong. I've loved everything this manga was building up to that point. It was executing peak storytelling principles that are hard to find with non-action stories these days. However, the execution of this ending (pun unintended) is just so piss poor. How the hell are we supposed to believe that the husband survived STRANGULATION, A GAPING WOUND ACROSS HIS ARM, PLUS TWO STABS TO HIS HEART AND LEFT LUNG, THEN LEFT THERE TO DIE AND TOOK HOURS FOR MEDICS TO RESCUE HIS PATHETIC ABUSIVE ASS WITHOUT SUCCUMBING TO HORRENDOUS INFECTIONS, BLOOD LOSS, HEART FAILURE, OR A MYRIAD OF OTHER WAYS TO DIE?!? Good lord.

What's frustrating me isn't the tragic ending itself, we already expected that ages ago, it's how we got to that unbelievable ending. Author was maybe too lazy too draw more chapters to justify how the fuck the husband survived and track down Jirou and Kuroko. That's a major plot hole which just sours the entire ending experience that would have otherwise been perfect. If the author's intention with this whole manga was simply to toy the audience's emotions just for this specific moment, then congratulations, they succeeded. Just goes to prove that the author had to rely on cheap shock value instead of actual good writing though, so too bad.

Could have been my one and only rated 10 masterpiece that's in this genre. What a waste.
