Here we're starting to see the death knell for shitty manga: pacing problems.

We're on week three of this bullying plotline and an entire chapter was dedicated to having a conversation about having a conversation with someone else. There was no movement on the mystery, nothing was revealed, and no stakes were raised other than to remind the audience of the same thing from a week ago—they might not get to go on their shitty class trip.

Serialized fiction has got to be hard to write, but if you only have half a dozen pages you can't squander them with just having characters rehash the plot over and over.

i'll defend this author. don't say that this is stupid and unrealistic, in fact it's very real you got real life example of Amber Turd. The Author must have got the inspiration from that

Which, as I pointed out, is actually a problem. By that I mean the mismanagement of bullying at schools. You got the good old, punish the victim for defending themselves; You got the downplayers; You got the inverse of this, which is where the teacher piles on the bullying so the victim stays quiet and they don't have to deal with it, etc.

If the rest of the class had turned on her and they hadn't called the teacher out I would had been right there with you.

I thought that I would want to write another reply, try to compare it to another series with a comparable number of pages with a hope of finding out what might showcase something this could be doing to do better.

But then I realized that writing anything else was just going to make me angrier and that I don't need that. I'll keep reading until it completely falls apart, but I don't know if I can handle making more comments...

but seriously, just once, anyone here try to put themself in that teacher pov, especially when school bullying is a sensitive topic and as new teacher, you don't know anything about this class relationship

Lol I’m just here to watch this whole mess burn and to read the comments, I’m reading ahead on another language so it’s safe to say there’s nothing redeemable about this writing.

I'm glad they're pointing out the bullshit in the teacher's methods.

By the way, the method the teacher is using would actually encourage people to point their fingers at Yukishiro to get it over with and protect their field trip. If the case doesn't get solved by a culprit being pointed at and the only suspect is her, some classmates who are being dragged down to this conflict by the teacher when they had no stakes on the situation whatsoever would seek a quick solution to protect themselves, that being lying about witnessing her bullying the girl.

She's going to cause a witch hunt at this point.

The worst part is that its only a mystery in-universe. The readers are under no illusions as to who is behind this, and we're stuck watching the cast languidly try to discover what we already know; the ex is behind it. It's like watching a toddler solving 2+2. The end result isn't going to surprise anyone when they discover its 4. It's just boring and it makes it feel even slower than it is. It doesn't help that the entire situation is predicated by the teacher being room temp IQ.

As for the people defending the author saying its a realistic situation: Life is boring a lot of the time. If you write a boring story where nothing happens, you might be realistic but you're still writing a terrible story. There's more to a good narrative than realism.

Some teachers I knew were more batshit crazy, not like this one is less insane.

Doesn't she always talk about anime with her weeb friends?

Ok? chill dude it's not that deep. If you're gonna get so angry and so easily over it then I agree we should end this here. Hope you have a good day and calm down.

To be honest, I can believe someone being this incompetent. Maybe the teacher graduated from uni during covid while cheating on all of his online exams.

Can't wrap my head around the education system in this manga. This teacher is clearly incompetent and yet there's no action from the parents or whomever is above the teacher.

wow, it's amazing how reader are dancing in the palm of author-san and did not think he did that on purpose to stir people's opinion on the subject of bullying (witch exists in japanese schools btw) :korone:
