Honestly the premise of the MC breaking away from the control freak ex was great, but him suddenly being perfect in every single way is a little grating. I'm almost wondering if this story would work better as a 4koma or something.

Yeah that kinda is my problem with this manga tbh. Still a nice read, and the premise is nice as you said. But we're at chapter 4, and he already is a giga chad known by all his classmates, have completely cut ties with the ex, is already making a new girl fall, etc.

At this rate I'm wondering how the story is going to progress in the future chapters if everything is already resolved in the very first chapters. I'd have preferred to see the MC struggle a little bit to cut ties with the ex, struggle a little to become popular etc. That'd have made for a more engaging story (as well as a more realistic and relatable one). Getting out of an abusive/toxic relationship is not as easy as that.

Finally, I really really fear that the author will give us a bullshit "i was an insecure tsundere teehee" later on. I've seen it happen in so many mangas where the girl act like a total scumbag but is later entirely forgiven because "i have trouble communicating and I'm cute teehee so everything must be forgiven".

So far it hasn't been that way with this manga, and I really hope the author won't go that way.

Yeah with teh short length of the LN I can't see this going past 30 chapters. Also yeah even in the LN it was a point of complaint how he suddenly became a 11/10 gigachad overnight.

The story would still roll without him being OP. The only close friends that actually matter in the story are Fumi and Chiaki. From the antagonist, Hanabi and Kirigaya. The rest are pretty much faceless characters, so it doesn't matter if they worship him or just being normal friendly classmates, it wouldn't affect the plot.

One thing I still can't get over from the manga adaptation. Chiaki is ikemen in the LN version, not this kind of guy. (although the manga version is probably more accurate as the narration said he got scary face).

This felt a little wheel spinny this chapter though not much was really acomplished.

I basically know how this series goes so I'll not spoil but you'll still see me comment as the manga continues (Specially as it might not follow the LN)

To be honest, forgetting all the "breaking up and turning out to be a perfect guy", I have to say honestly, the ex girlfriend, the manga is making she looks like she is just "someone who get lost in their character". But, in LN, that I've read a bit, she is much worse, in LN she is sociopath.

I'm getting to like the manga, but they are making her image too much light.
