Yep, though the story did get expanded when it got published as a LN and got a 2nd Volume, so hopefully the manga goes through that 2nd volume and it doesn't end with the OG ending, because the leads don't even together otherwise, which is something that happen in the 2nd, along solving the ex plot entirely

Likely the author simply ended the WN when he got a contract to write a LN.
