another !
this is another manga that portrays itself as a parody
it makes fun of romcom tropes...

...and then the mangaka forgets about it, starts doing the tropes he was making fun of without realizing

the sypnosis makes me feel like an incel wrote it. Hopefully that's entirely on the author and not the translator

I wanted to like this because I figured at some point progress would be made but nothing has happened except regurgitate the same joke ad nauseum like a family guy cutaway gag. I am so OVER the “tragic/comedic misunderstanding” trope at this point. For real, can that trope find a grave and sleep already? It’s made worse by the fact that when Runa is introduced, she’s so damn blatant about her interest in Eiyuu that it should move the plot along but instead nothing happens just to preserve the status quo. There’s no plot whatsoever, just a string of “romcom” vignettes that are only tied together because of chronological order, otherwise you could literally open a random chapter, read it and you’ve seen everything the manga has to offer.

Final solution:

Step 1: Get all of them to love each other.
Step 2: Talk to parents, they all seem chummy already anyways.
Step 3: After graduation, live in all together.
Step 4: ??
Step 5: HAREM SUCCESS!!

No idea how this has a rating of 8+.
There's literally over 40 chapters where they say "Hey btw I like you romantically" and it somehow gets dismissed for no reason and forgotten by the next chapter.
I know it's a common trope but this takes it to a level that almost insults the reader.

This was a really disappointing read. 80 chapters that amounted to nothing. You have chapters that are pure nothing-burgers. A lot of fluff and filler, but no actual plot progression. It’s weird that Mangaka writers that make harem plots drive themselves into a corner because they refuse to make their MCs choose. And then they add to the roster as if that’ll make a difference.

Fun heroines, an insufferable MC, and a spineless author..
Basically, "childhood friend" is a roundabout way to say "girlfriend" while selling a will-they-won’t-they story.

I don't remember how many chaps I've read but there's at least a dozen "I like you, Just kidding" like how TF am I supposed to root for anyone "We're just childhood friends" "I don't see them as opposite sex" Bunch of compulsive lying spineless. I actually hope all of them will be single for the rest of their lives. Except for the little sister. Kudos to the author tho for writing characters so unrealistic it's probably impossible to find any japanese irl that act like them.

Just once I'd love to see a MC stand up for themself, tell someone they're acting like a bitch, say they want nothing to do with them and move on.
