I actually like the fact that the brother has a pretty big insecurity about his perfection status and inability to live up to it. He's a victim of circumstances as much as his brother is by association.

Idk why people talking about rei like he's being unreasonable, societal pressure is a bitch and no matter how that perfect image of him was formed, he feels pressured to keep it up and not let people down. He also has no reassurance that anyone other than his family would like his actual personality since he doesn't drop the mask unless he's at home. Who knows how long he's been keeping it up, and who knows what caused him to try and improve his image in the first place, expectations will always be there and that'll always suck.

Realized after finishing this chapter that I hadn't even read previous 2, there's been so little progressthat I didn't even notice while reading.

then the entire premise of this series falls on its face.

the MC already thinks every girl he's ever met is only talking to him to use him to get to Rei. If Houjou does it as well, then there's no resolution to his character arc - and that still applies if it's Rei going after Houjou on his own - and the actual narrative of the story centered around MC might as well not exist at all, at that point.

Besides, your phrasing implies that Houjou would just go along with it in that hypothetical - and there's zero indication she's that kind of person, either.

This isn't an NTR doujin, after all.
I think that’s exactly what happens when people who read NTR doujins/manga find fluffy stories and start reading them (they literally see betrayal and infidelity everywhere).

This user didn’t even consider that Houjou could simply reject Rei’s advances and immediately assumed that Houjou would be taken away.

And as you mentioned, that would literally destroy the entire structure of the story.

We still don't know what kind of person she is, because the story never lets us see anything from her pov. There isn’t a single chapter from her perspective, not even a flashback or a private thought. So how are we supposed to understand her motives ????

At this point, it could go either maybe she’s genuinely sincere, or maybe there’s something going on behind the scenes. We can’t tell, because all we ever get is what the MC projects onto her. Honestly, it doesn’t even look like she’s supporting him that much; she just says a few vague lines and he gives them way more emotional depth than she probably intended.

If the story wants to prove she’s truly different from the others, it needs to SHOW it, not just expect us to take it on faith.

Wait, who's saying "I'm home!" on page 11? Is that the mom? If so, she looks like she's wearing a male school uni. (Sweater and a tie)

Or, you can take the cue of the tone that's been set throughout this entire series, coupled with the actual premise of the story, and conclude that this isn't an NTR title?

I guess I'm just at a loss as to why you feel like Rei is that kind of person, why Houjou is that kind of person, or why this story is that kind of story.

"we haven't seen Houjou from her own perspective" because this is Youta's story, and so we'll obviously get things from his perspective. He's absolutely positive that every girl ever is only using him to get to his brother, because that's been the story - except his brother apparently doesn't want to date anyone, as per this chapter. Houjou is the exception, of course, and we're only getting started with the narrative, here.

Nothing about the FMC indicates she cares about Rei whatsoever, and she is clearly more interested in Youta. She's an enigma, because we're only 13 chapters in and I suspect this isn't meant to be a 3 or even 4 volume series, and there needs to be time for Youta to fully come to terms with his own feelings, as well.

There'll absolutely be some form of drama down the line, but it's not going to be because Rei takes Houjou away from his little brother.

You're on the wrong part of this website if that's where your brain's going at this juncture.
