I wouldn't want chapters spent on such a thing either, but for fairness's sake, Aria herself wouldn't be who she is now, if indeed alive at all, if she hadn't received training from a bunch of more experienced people. Despite being a hard-boiled killer now, she's still a good person, after a fashion, so she might as well give those two a few lessons, to maintain the good karma.

Finally caught up to the manga, hoo boy they made Shuri's reaction even better here, and it's already hilarious in the novel.

Actually I wonder how did her title get leaked out, you think the people with shady dealings know how to keep their mouth shut. Then again, we have that scout who loudly revealing he is from the thief guild in a panic...

People involved in shady dealings may need to know how to keep their mouths shut, but they also need to know how to get information. In Aria's case spreading that information is actually useful to the thieves' guild, because that information can keep their people from catching a problematic case of being stabbed. Also it's not like the information is harmful to their reputation, she took out an assassin's guild branch first. People aren't going to look down on the thieves' guild for losing people to her, at least not if they know about what she did before that. Besides that, hyping up someone that did reputational harm to you can lessen the reputational harm. I mean losing people to an unstoppable death machine is a lot less embarrassing than losing people to a prepubescent girl, even if in this case she is both.

It's a common pitfall with LN authors, they make super capable characters but make them really young to hammer in that they're a prodigy or something.

The manga artist is doing a good (or bad, depending on how you feel about it) job of making Aria not feel like a child. I genuinely forgot that she's still 9 years old up until today.

Yes, this will 100% end as Yuri, but not yuri harem. Aria ends up with Carla (renamed White after the events) in a sort of strange relation where Carla is like "Well, you saved my life, you broke me, you buy me". They also basically own a cat together (a cat that can take on a dragon mind you), and just go about their lives living as they always have, adventuring, murdering enemies, saving people, spending time with their cat (fighting impossibly strong things). You know, normal yuri couple things.

Beyond the "glamour shots" where the artist is just going "hey look, she's still a cute girl", I'd just find it difficult to put aside how she brutally murders people every few chapters.

Like yeah, hey, she's a cute girl, but she did also nearly decapitate someone a few chapters ago, kind of hard to put that aside for any character regardless of age...

Being a psycho murderer is pretty universally hot. Recall that serial killers who doesn't look like a foul old man will get fan letters in jail from tons of young ladies.
