He's an asshole when he thinks there's little chance of serious retribution. He repetadly says he only buys fights he's sure he'll win. Here he's going in blind, unlike the last time. Not only that, multiple characters warn him not to go looking for a fight.

Pretty sure. In the previous arc something similar happened, to which he responded "I'll remember this, master". It'll take some time, but you'll see he's pretty good at holding grudges.

One of the many, many reasons I love this series: the main character is not a fucking doormat.

At a point, Leon will slap the shit out of someone even if it inconveniences him because it's either the right thing to do or because he's had enough/wants to fuck them with (...admittedly the latter is much more common).
