Wow, he gave up his sanity. Legitimately. They ran through the course of a relationship and they basically stopped caring about anything (even each other at some point). The place where he watches the fireworks by himself is symbolic of him no longer being with her. The last few panels of the movie film are DARK. Like, even darker than some of the other stuff they pulled earlier.

Man this was cinema. Actually crazy that this got axed. Such good storytelling and invokes some visceral reactions. Thanks for all the translations! Would’ve loved to see how this would have spanned given a 50-chapter spread and proper ending. Could’ve been a masterpiece.
