The mark of a wiseman is he who offers advice without reward, the mark of a madman is he who incites a crowd to alleviate his boredom, and the mark of a battle junky is he who instigates his opponents just to make them strike harder against him. In short, the MC is all three.

Honestly, him destroying the cards he doesn´t like seems pretty stupid. For all he knows, they could still prove useful in one way or another.
I mean, the first round already diverted from his memories with a freaking zombie-apocalypse happening thanks to the butterfly effect. And with different people surviving thanks to him acting different, the butterfly effect is gonna get stronger over time, making his knowlegde from the futur less useless with every round. He might think that the cards are useless because he didn´t need them during the last time, but he might need them this time.

still dont understand why they would be hesitate to spend the points. has it been explained that if they keep the points the get that in money if they looks or something? unless im missing something there should be no reason not to spend the points.
The arthor could of did a better job writing this scene. Arthur could of explained if you dont spend the points you will get those points in money when you lose. The people could have been depressed and thinking that they were gonna lose anyway so why spend over 1000 in points and risk losing it by dying in the game. Then the MC motivates them to risk it all to win rather than worrying that you would lose.

@MinecraftNoob Might be some stupid mechanic, like a boost to stats per destroyed card.

Or, he wants to remove some RNG from his draws, less chance to open with a bad hand with fewer cards.

Does the luck card not affect his draw chances?
Is this the author just trying to make the character a star feature on r/iamverybadass ?
