Why do you think so? Feels quite notEurope to me, looking at the flora and fauna. For the first time, it's not notEurope!
OK, landmass notEurope is one thing, but I meant more it's not the typical "Fairy Tale Medieval Europe."Why do you think so? Feels quite notEurope to me, looking at the flora and fauna.
I don't know the original source, but page 23 sounds clunky, specifically "If I can't calm your anger, won't I end up getting killed?"Yeah... sorry about that, give it some proof reading but its still a bit clunky at times
If you have any specific parts lmk and will fix
It's most likely him trying to explain what just happened. He's describing what the humans were probably thinking when they sent the girl to him. "The dragon attacked us yesterday, so we'll send him this girl so that he doesn't attack us anymore".I don't know the original source, but page 23 sounds clunky, specifically "If I can't calm your anger, won't I end up getting killed?"
I assume this is the elf and dragon speaking to each other about the sacrifice, where the dragon wants to return her, the elf is saying it's impossible, and the dragon clarifying he's not angry. The sacrifice doesn't have language yet, so she can't speak from her perspective yet. Should it be "If she can't calm your anger, won't she end up getting killed?" as the elf is saying that particular bit? Or am I misunderstanding this exchange?
Huh. I was right. The novel has the elf speaking there. It's most likely him trying to explain what just happened. He's describing what the humans were probably thinking when they sent the girl to him. "The dragon attacked us yesterday, so we'll send him this girl so that he doesn't attack us anymore".
Although this era didn't have elaborate clothing, her hair was decorated by flowers and she wore a necklace made out of carved turquoise-colored stones. She was obviously decorated for a specific reason.
"I guess… this is that, isn't it…"
"A sacrifice."
Nina said the word I was thinking out loud.
"I wonder if we can send her back…"
"I guess they want you to kill her to appease your anger?"
"I'm not even angry though…"
