Prototyping subtitled Drama CD support - feedback wanted!

hmmm, this could be interesting
I do find not knowing who is speaking to be an issue. While the subtitles could address this by baking in names, it is imperfect, for the reason that characters may lack names, or have a several different nicknames in addition to their rarely used real name. The name might only be known from the source material if the drama is adapted from manga, anime, visual novels, etc. It is certainly better than omitting an indication of the speaker completely.
It would really be nice if there were some way to associate names with a visual defection of the characters in some manner, whether it be just allowing editors to upload an image with the likenesses of the characters and their romaji names, or something more elaborate, like a cast of characters tab where where the characters could be listed along with a representative image. Just some food for thought.

I am not really interested in audio drama; as others have already pointed out, you had overcapacity problems not even three months ago. Drama CD are also more open to copyright strikes, since you are posting the original material.
If you really want to do this, I hope you do that on a separate site (maybe with a link from the header or the menu) and only for the subtitles, something like opensubtitles.org

Hosting subtitle? Great. Hosting CD drama? AWESOME~! Other weebs stuff are already covered, so why DramaCD and podcast hasn't?
Though I no need for subtitles, but if I going to use subtitle (for music or drama) it gonna be like this, if I have the time for it.
Floating windows for subtitle. Minilyrics btw. Has to extract and convert source .ass to .irc/.swt. Not sure if there's any other workaround.

I'm scratching my head because I'm a bit mixed on this. Like, this seem to be a great idea on paper.
As some others have pointed out, tbh, the only real problem I see with this is that hosting the audio for Drama CDs might be a huge bad idea, and a very easy invitation to C&Ds. For other this might be not an issue, but manga and CDs are two different beasts altogether. Especially since recording labels and studios are more aggressive than manga publishers themselves.
That's why (often) translators will reccomend others to get the CDs themselves- because they don't want to get into huge legal headaches with these labels if they shared the audio tracks.
For supporting the original work, I don't think simply adding a link to Amazon (or any other shop, really, because some of these CDs are either sold in other shops or the CDs are longer out of print, or you have to get into proxy services to let you do the doing) is going to help (also, AFAIK, there has been rare releases of official translated Drama CDs in the entire world...)
Like, the reason why a blog like https://dramacdtranslations.tumblr.com existed, was to have a hub for available fan translations of the CDs that were posted somewhere in the internet, in one place. The only downside of this particular blog, was that it only hubbed URLs (as it was an index), and as someone else mentioned, it hasn't been updated in years... and probably a lot of these links are dead now.
I wouldn't mind something like this, actually? An index site hosting Drama CD translations. As someone above mentioned, something like opensubtitles.org, without the fear of having the original translators vanish into the internet void, and (probably) without expecting a whole legal mess in the making.

That's an amazing feature. Wanted to at least chime in and say that. I have no desire for high fidelity audio in this context; the -v2 mp3 file is just fine and good for general browser compatibility probably.
For the player, ideally it would be like Oyez's audio transcript player for SOCUS (see "oral argument" button on this page for an example: https://www.oyez.org/cases/2018/17-1104). It shows you who's speaking, highlights the text as it goes, and allows you to click on the text to jump to that point in the audio track. It's beautiful.
