Well moving in to fire, in order to avoid hitting Lily, was not a great decision. I wonder if Yumina will even reflect on the fact that they could have limited damage to the unit that disobeyed orders and instead rushed in with everyone while the status of the snake was still uncertain. That's just a gamble.

I thought Airi had left to intercept Lily in a bike so what is she still doing in the main vehicle. I was wondering why she hadn't shown up at all to board Lily's vehicle and stop her. Well, she's survived thanks to that.

It's quite sad to see how the units under Katsuya were all unable to function, asking for orders for every little thing, after the attack by the snake. Apparently they had no protocol to handle these situations. The external units on the other hand apparently took action without needing orders.

Lily the idiot died all satisfied, apparently completely oblivious to how many died due to her disobeying orders.

The external unit is understandably angry at the situation and of course Katsuya chooses to act pissed at them for his poor command skills just because they do not care, beyond their reduced paycheck, for the death toll.

What is Katsuya trying to do with a gun and a bike against the snake? The external unit has stated that with Lily they had all the morons accounted for so there's no one else to save. I guess he's "putting comrades over orders".

It'll be hilarious if Katsuya manages to finish off the snake and then the Drancam manager woman, who is at the root of all this nonsense by enabling Lily, spins it as this being an incredible achiement that he essentially took down the snake on his own. They're going to have to pay off the external unit to shut up about the absolute debacle though.

Name one correct choice Katsuya made up until this point. The list is short as all hell, I'm certain.

The only thing I can think of is hiring professional mercs and getting enough weapons. Listening to Sherl a bit was also correct. Him putting his correct name down on some paper work? Remembering to breath, but that may have been a mistake.

Considering the hellscape of the planet, I'm not really sure they needed to kill this thing for any reason except reputation.

From what I know, the AIs (alpha included) are doing some sort of tests on their "Vessels". For what reason? I dunno.
But the main difference with the MC and Katsuya is that, Alpha is doing a more hands on/one on one on the MC, making him more powerful but slightly independent from her with a side effect of everyone putting the MC in the lowest bar as possible making him look "weak".
While Katsuya's AI is putting him in a glorified position with some slight buffs but nothing else and just leaves him in his devices. The AI also tricks Katsuya's naivette to make him think that he "deserves" that position. He does get recognition but at the cost of everyone else around him.

This is gonna be a bit of a spoilers

honestly, it feels more like deduction instead of actual spoiler. everyone can deduce more or less that much by this point.
but do you have more relevant "spoiler" that are more like spoiler that you can share?

Katsuya is insufferable but this is only partially his fault. Lily fucked up bad on this one. Akira just taken care business like it's another Tuesday.

Nah. It's fully his fault. It's always a leader's fault for not be able to handle disobedient. He HAD so many chances to stop her but he chose doing nothing. There's no way he could escaped the blame here.

the AI is an idiot to isolate someone who literally has role to be leading group just because she want him to be like Akira

(yeah, it clearly she want to compete with Akira and Alpha but she trying to cutting corner to catch up the lack. only to make that guy worse since from the beginning, she's not being accepted by Trashuya. unlike Akira who recognized each other with Alpha)

Some thoughts:

Much as we're inclined to hate on Tatsuya, keep in mind that different people have different strengths. Tatsuya is not bad, but he's a Shonen hero in a non-Shonen hero story, so he's taking some Ls.

Pro: He has some self-awareness. He now realizes that he can't lead, and he's willing to pass that role off to someone else. This is FAR better than 1) some fool too stupid to realize this; or 2) some ass to arrogant to admit it.

Tatsuya and the MC are both being manipulated by (pretty much) the same AI with the same goals. But Tatsuya's AI only affects him on the subliminal level, which makes the connection weaker, but also makes him much more vulnerable -- because he doesn't even know that there's something there manipulating him. That he still manages to reject some of that AI's direction is notable.

Almost certainly, down the road, once the AI's goal is revealed, there's going to be a conflict between the AI(s) and MC (and Tatsuya?)

Central Theme: Be wary of those seeking to manipulate you.

I think too many commenters here only see the first side. The author is not playing cliched trope games.

Considering it’s a chapter with Kasuya, it’s a pretty good chapter. If I’m to read about him, seeing him suffer is not too bad. The aftermath will be enjoyable too I hope.
