scar man is based, albeit blunt. While he's being a bit of a dick about it, I don't disagree with scar man. The kid is punching above his weight class and doesn't know when to back down.
He's either gonna get himself killed, or get another one of his squadmates killed if he doesn't get his shit togetherWhile he's being a bit of a dick about it, I don't disagree with scar man. The kid is punching above his weight class and doesn't know when to back down.
That's a best case scenario, too; dude reminds me waaaay too much of that party leader from the beginning of Goblin Slayer. He's either gonna get himself killed, or get another one of his squadmates killed if he doesn't get his shit together
She was getting second hand embarrassment looking at him. When the person you hate is giving more respect to your opp (the real MC) that's when you need to humble yourself and stop picking fights with others
Even Elena sees that the wannabe MC is trying too hard and is hard to work with for that reason
Reina grew way more than I was expecting from her. She talked hot shit, got humbled, and took it to heart to improve herself. I don't see beta MC over there ever growing that much. Shit, she might be harem hopping before he has any real growthThe characterizations here in this manga are surprisingly outstanding.
- Akira is pretty much a straight shooter. He's in control of himself, and acts primarily for himself. He will also help others, but it's on a case by case basis, and not due to a moral paradigm. (I.e. no "With great power comes great responsibility" for him.)
- Delta humorously probing MC for his motivations... But it's really not humorous at all -- she's trying to build a simulation of Akira so that she can better manipulate him.
- Katsuya is on the surface a typical shonen protagonist, but underneath he's a control freak who can't handle people contradicting him.
- Yumina at first looks like Katsuya's harem member. But it's clear that she manipulates and manages him.
- Sheila similarly is explicitly out to manipulate Akira. But for her, that's not inconsistent with love. She's clearly deeply attached to him -- enough so that just a few hugs is enough to give her deep calm and confidence. She's a perfect mafia wife.
I don't agree on Katsuya, after all he asked his team members if they wanted to take on the croc earlier and instantly backed down when they said no. After that he was thankful to Yumina for taking initiative to ask Elena for her green light to take it on. I don't get why some readers are so hard on him. He's just a talented kid who hasn't gotten a reality check yet. Doesn't help that he has some unknown mystic AI suddenly enhancing him, making him believe he's even more of an ace shot than Shikarabes ealier evaluation hinted at.The characterizations here in this manga are surprisingly outstanding.
