real cute, but wasn't something kinda odd about the art in this one?

The art has been off for a few chapters.
For me, it feels like the art's been rushed or like the composition of the panels hasn't been as well thought through or aren't as intense/epic as they were in the first few chapters. In some places the art feels closer to the sketch than a final render, which wasn't the case in the few arcs.
I'm keen to hear what other people think is "off" about the art, because I don't think my view is entirely correct or complete - like there's something else that's wrong with it that I'm missing.

Have people really forgotten, or did they never learn it in the first place because they skimmed? NO. This entire series of battles has the men losing their women if they lose. It was supposed to strip Mikagami of his supports.

I found it kinda sweet the way marl put her arm infront of the mc to protect him when the dude was getting back up. Also, on the top panel on page 32 why was the mc lookin like that one “HEEEEEY YOUUUU GUUUUUYS” dude from the goonies😂? (And yes I do now realize that was just two different moments of mc’s face fused together)

The artist no lifed the first chapters, now that it's established and selling well, he's just chilling.

He talked about some of his personal life struggles on X so I don't think the manga has been as big of a priority for him. Maybe the quality of the art will pick up now that those problems seem to be behind him though.

It's also to be noted that he's better at drawing ecchi than prolonged combat scenes, these fights may be dragging on a little bit too long for him.

Though I do have to say, I'm really wondering why the whole deal about male contestants being sex changed is even a thing at this point.

The author does write/draw porn... so some of those chaps don't feel comfortable going completely out of their element and going completely non-nsfw and feel the need to straddle the line instead. There's quite a few artists that do this.

I think they meant Marl and well, she was quite awful person before and probably still is, she got introduced enjoying torturing her slaves by breaking their limbs and doesn't seem to regret that part. She's a dangerous sociopath, just one currently tamed by the MC.

Chris is nice, I agree. Fortunately it seems it will be something like consensual thing with her, judging by the spoilers.
