Finally a manga that doesn't demonize a girl for having an ex 😩 she's had a pretty bad ending in her previous life, having to see her beloved die before her eyes when he was just helping people, and then she had to continue as basically an abuse victim thanks to the shitty prince. She's had it hard, let the girl get proper closure and move on with this life already.

Also really nice to see Saryu tackle this very maturely. No aggression, no lashing, no destructive jealousy, maybe a pang of a question to his confidence but not something that hit his entire self-worth. And he also articulates! All the thoughts and feelings he had, in order, directly and without being hurtful.

Masterclass. 10/10 attitude.

I REALLY hope not, because then he's not him anymore. Like, a lot of these past life reincarnation things don't really address the idea of a "soul" or individual personhood, and that if someone else's memory and consciousness becomes present in your mind, even as just a passenger, you're no longer "you" anymore. So if she did fall in love, knowing he was reincarnated, then she always hoped that the current "him" would be overtaken by her past life love, and she never saw him as anything but a temp partner until her former lover supplanted him. Which would be REALLY messed up.

I guess in some cases that can be consuming, but in others it could just be a merger where yeah, you won't be the same, but you'd still be the best version of you. The supplanting part could be messed up, or maybe he would never retrieve those memories. She could still love his soul and all the things he still does, even in another life.

Feels like a little rushed. Unless there are plans to explore what a protagonist being the partner of a trucked-kun can experience, this feels like it reached the endgame in very few chapters. Oh well.

Well even if that is the case his sentiment of wanting her to look at this him is still valid. He may be Atsuhito's reincarnation but that also means he is not just directly Atsuhito. He's a different person with different memories, and even potential for a wholely different personality.

Being a "reincarnation" seems like a one-to-one for those outside looking in (especially with how it is most often portrayed in these kinds of stories) but really you are not your past lives, not fully. You are a new person living a new life. It's more like an old job you once had and you're working another job now but instead every aspect of who you are. You used to be A, you are now B. You are no longer A. B is their own person separate from A. However your life as A life may have taught B some subconscious lessons that help you.

added to your point mate. While i do agree with op, i also agree with your point as well.
To me reincarnation is just you as the same person, but living as a different life, a different level. Like yah previous incarnation personality/reincarnation personality may overwrite the current one. That doesn't diminish the soul is still the same.

For the info it's not that he look a bit like him,he litterally said it was like looking in a mirror
At the end of the novel he has a bit of a confrontation with him in a spirit world or something but nothing violent
He just said to him that citoen wasn't "the woman in the labcoat ' and that they were their own person
So i think he rejected the idea of having other memory and chose to live in the present
