I love seeing actual quality translations absolutely humiliate crappy, unreadable snipes. Thanks for the chapter.

Usually, if there are major changes, the WN is completely different from the LN, and the manga tends to follow the LN. But sometimes, the arcs are in different orders, which can make the story seem completely different even if it isn't.

I find that most of the time the LN tends to be much "cleaner" in terms of structure and content, but whether that's a good or bad thing depends on the story. Some work better with the rougher WN versions, and some are just a mess without those added edits.
The LN seems to have the MC be more of a doormat that can't even meet his son. He basically does nothing and the love between him and the queen are extremely one sided from what I read.

That seems like a bummer. It doesn't sound as if it would be interesting to read at all. It barely even sounds like a story.

I usually don't like source material changes but in this case sounds like we got a much better deal in the manga tbh lol

Take it from someone who writes as a hobby; the creative process is a long and convoluted one.

Pixar is known for one of their biggest tips in creating a story - and one they reiterate ad nauseum - is to REWRITE! REWRITE! And REWRITE AGAIN! This is why their stories tend to be so great, because they've gone through the editorial and creative processes again and again until they get it right.

The adaptive process of Web Novel to Light Novel to Manga to Anime is pretty much Pixar's process at work. From what I've heard, in fact, it's very rare to see real consistency between the adaptations. Some series only really gain the popularity they have because they've been refined as much as they have been.

@RonBWL I'd like to thank you and your group for taking the time to properly translate this series. I'll admit, I am one of the people who do wish to see you catch up with the raws, but I also understand how much of a challenge it is with something like this. It really does require a very strong grasp of both Japanese and English (to say nothing of the beast that is politics) in order to make a translation for something like this work.

I wish there was something I could offer to help out, but the most I could do is proof reading.

As for Lucrezia... Honestly, I like her.

Let me explain.

She is right that some people do find the immature act to be endearing. People like me, who have an admittedly strong paternalistic streak, are honestly entertained by such an immature and pugnacious attitude - especially when we know it's mostly just an act. Besides, it's pretty refreshing to deal with someone who is so blatant in what it is they want instead of getting the "Why don't you figure it out, Mr. Know-It-All!" treatment.

(In fact, if anything it is Zenjirou who is giving her the You-Figure-It-Out treatment, although not intentionally. Guys can play the Hard-To-Get game as well, and it's just as effective on women as it is on men.)

Of course, it's also probably got a fair bit to do with my matrilineal heritage. You see, the women from my mother's side of the family... Let's just say two things:
  1. They're what the Japanese would refer to as "Wild Flowers" - they are the type that, in a more wild and rustic setting, their first impulse upon being challenged would be to draw steel.
  2. My own mother rejoices in the nick name of "Hatchet Lady" and it's not just for shits and giggles.
If it were me in Zenjirou's place, there'd be a lot of times where I'd be like dis-gun-be-good.gif.

Basically, Lucrezia is from a poligamous, patriarchal society, and like most of her society she expects those things for male preferences.
Thus why she is so frustrated, because Zenchirou... does not, and she has no experience with something like this.

Zenchirou, even if he is from somewhere with some of it (according to comments on other manga), is a much more equalitarian view of genders, knowing and appreciating when women can do the same as men and...
One issue no one seems to get - from a society mainly monogamous, so he is not looking for a second or third wife. The second even he was mainly pushed into it, and he developped a proper friendship with her first.
Hell, it is not like he would be the one with the final choice, since in his eyes, even if in no one else's, his wife is the one that has the word about it.

...that said, I do think Lucrezia would be a good addition. Mainly... exactly because she has this worldview, thus he needs someone to help him adjust to how everyone else there thinks.

The translation was finished on Jan 23rd, and the TS was done on Jan 26. We were literally in the middle of QCing before release when the MTL chapter appeared.

It's been discussed before, but we're incapable of catching up to raw, solely because the main TL (Agsilver) works for many groups and it's a miracle that he stuck with us for the last two years to translate Risou, a very heavy text and long page count. Even ComicDom with their scambaiting tactics didn't shoot for this series and gave up after just one chapter (46), because Risou is simply not MTL-friendly enough to scambait. I understand that readers want to catch up to raw, but it's simply not possible given our manpower at this moment.

I just want to say that you put out a quality translation, and as long as the updates are regular I don't mind being behind the raws.

Slow and steady and all that.

As an LN reader, the story is the same like nothing changed between them. He can meet his son if he wants only when he could not was when he was sick and because he was from the earth he could die and because he is the only Male that has time magic blood they could not risk him. Like he is so important that she would save him first because he is able to give more children.

For the one-sided thing, it is again the same as here nothing changed. Also being a doormat. He does everything for her and he does not want anything just to be in his room but the Queen needs to do stuff and is forced to accept stuff she does not like because she is a ruler.

Like in the manga he also does nothing only things he did here are the same in the LN I think in the LN he does a couple of stuff more Like the whole waterwheel and trying to get glass but he does not know much so the Queen tries to ask him and then explain in to experts and they do the hard lifting.

Now, I'm a hope-to-be-published-some-day sci-fi writer, and this means that I definitely have to do my share of research on various things. And this is one of those things I researched.

Apparently, the Manga-ka did their research as well, because this is a picture-perfect example of a strong maternal instinct in action.

You've heard about doctors admonishing new mothers to not sleep with their baby in the bed? Well, it's actually kinda bunk because the actual danger is from the bed itself. Infants that wind up face-down in a soft mattress wind up suffocating. So instead you should be using a very firm mattress pad - one with the same sort of firmness that a baby mattress has.

Thing is, this is the natural state of mothers with newborns. This is how it is actually supposed to be done.

Look at the way she's curled around that egg. Whenever a mother sleeps with their baby, they always take this position, creating a protected area for baby. And what's more is that the baby won't wander off. Babies are contact-seekers by nature, and they go a step further by keeping their faces aimed right at mother's... chest. Yes, even while they're asleep!

Even more interesting is that this also helps prevent natal sleep apnea. Reason being? Our autonomous breathing is governed not by how much oxygen is in our blood, but instead by the amount of C02. So mother's breath on baby's face is actually forcing them to breathe more deeply. This is also why "Shuush-shuush" is a calming onomatopoeia that is present in just about every language on Earth - because it mimics the sound of mother's breathing.

If I were Zenjirou and I actually saw this? I'd get that camera out right away, snap a picture, and then go straight to Aura with it, saying, "This one. If it has to be any of them at all, then it's got to be Nazeema. Her maternal instinct is so powerful that she will not only take good care of her children, but ours and Freya's as well. We might not even need a wet nurse or a nanny anymore, which means our children will be even more safe than they were before."

Muuuuuuch better. It's always refreshing to get a perspective on how spoiled we get with good translations, especially after seeing how bad it can be. Thank you TOOR Scans!

That's a really good point! Sadly I don't think she'll end up in the main group, since it seems like the blonde loli is the main focus of this arc.
