I have to make this rant because this is easily the most unrealistic chapter I've ever read.

Normally, run tricks do not get a leaderboard ban just because they can cause injuries. The types of things that usually get a category ban are device specific things to equalize the field, or anything that requires you to nuke the device in ways that require a bunch of data corruption to happen. For anything injury causing like this, the solution is to either improve it so humans can do it (Also the approach usually taken to convert TAS tricks into human ones) or to just do it. At best you have a generic PSA on how mashing is bad for your health.
From a personal perspective, if the run is just 30m, then mashing isn't going to be that bad for your health if it gives you a few minutes unless you have to mash at Contra level speed while doing a bunch of other things (I've done 1h runs with rhythmic mashing before). In this case though, you can probably just roll the controller and get it done without anyone being injured.

Also, if the game is a 30m run with a popularity similar to a Nintendo game, Any% Cartwheels will 100% get a slot on the leaderboard if cartwheels are banned.
Amazing rant and explanation mate, it was very informative. I already knew this but its nice seeing something trying to inform others of the facts.

God this series is always so funny and kinda gets my heart racing like I'm watching a speed run of my fav streamer.

Thanks everyone over at FML Translations for the amazing work on the translation.

I honestly just assume he's talking about any% runs banning the cartwheel tech due to how much tech that is required to perform continuous cartwheels.

Like they had to make a new leaderboard for Wind Waker specifically for manual superswim on outset island because the tech is an insane hurdle on its own on a regular any% run. I assume the same case is happening here.

Also as a category evolves sometimes the mashing strat ends up becoming worse than a hybrid strat

A simple one being whistle sprinting in botw, where it doesn’t use stamina but normal sprinting is actually a little bit faster than w. sprinting, so people adapted to alternate between them for a faster run

I will say that sometimes if running communities are super small and the game theyre running isnt popular, bans can get passed so much easier. even for the most mundane strats that would be completely fine in other game speedruns. some of their total player count don’t even break 2,000 people so obviously theres very few people running.

These are essentially all valid points and it depends a lot on the board community. One thing that this chapter does get right is that category restrictions can shift over time due to new discoveries (In this case, folks getting injuries) though the unrealistic part is that I don't think this has ever stopped anyone in reality. Someone would run a true Any% if it saves time like the Paper Mario ACE run or DQ3 run as long as it's in the spirit of the game.
One good recent example of community shifting category marks would be V Skewer skip for DMC5. The discussion went from "There was no way to route this in and it's difficult" to "This is skipping basically over half of what you have to do with this character no one wants to play so let's just roll with it" over a long period of time as better setups for it developed, and it splintered out a NMG category discussion. And no one ran NMG.

So given how this game is basically Nintendo level popularity, I think that injury bans wouldn't often pass this easily. Instead of Any%, Any% Glitchless, and a possible Any% Cartwheels category extension, in reality I'd say cartwheels have a very good chance of being integrated into Any% instead since mashing really isn't that bad personally, but if there are precedent cases then it depends a lot on how the board wants to handle it.

I'm assuming he'll use items such as bombs with that money.
Or maybe he'll use haste or buff potions.

Fun fact: Based on his twitter, the creator did do research on Tendonitis for this chapter, and in finding out about it, he realized that he has symptoms of the precursor to Tendonitis, so he's taking a break for a bit. He also retweets RTA in Japan runs (which is happening right now).

Also I swear that some of this might be based on Final Sword, a pretty infamous kusoge that is Speedrun'd. (The game's original mobile release was 2019 and the in-universe Another Verse was released on the same year based on Chapter 3.)

In earlier chapter, they said that it takes about 10 minutes to speedrun from the Capital to the Arachne Castle. MC said he can speedrun the Arachne in 15 minutes. In this chapter, they're already reaching 4 minutes while still in the Capital. This means that his bag and coins already enough to defeat the Arachne

If he's not hiring strong adventurers with those moneys, I wonder where he'll use them
You see while the boss arena locks you in it, due to the trader being pretty close you can buy 99 firebombs and then drop them at the fog gate and repeat this a few times to kill the boss with firebombs only.
