It just doesn't work for me at all personally, this little shit killed some really cool characters and we're supposed to just accept its presence and laugh at its antics moving forward? Nah, I said it last chapter but it bears repeating: fuck that lol. I would sooner have preferred the Spider Lady than this thing. Only way it works is if they ditch the slime as you say, or if MC has some console command nonsense to rez the S-rank party through the slime existing somehow, but I doubt either will happen tbh.
You'll forgive me for finding it a little silly on preferring a villain that caused - or at least, contributed to - the destruction of an
entire village and traumatized its only living survivor all the way to elder ages via taking over her
sister's body, to continue living over one that has, at the time of the story's current point, killed an S rank adventure trio and was about to pummel Ain into complete submission (something that
he was willingly egging on, even). Then again, Spider Gal never anchored the comedy down to a crawl, so I can understand to a degree.
Light ribbing aside, I just think it's too early to doom and gloom about it, even if I understand why some of the comments are so against this. There's an established baseline that
no one wants him there, and even Shachi was erring on caution due to this unfounded bug state (hell, he also denied Ain into peeping on the girls during the hot spring soothe beforehand, maybe he's just more chill and aware of social surroundings when taken outside his hobby?). It'd royally suck if Lapsi became a new buffoon - or worse, receive a Totally Sad & Dramatic Backstory on how and why he became So Evil To Begin With and Learned To Be Good Again After Some Trauma Was Quelled - for sure, but I dunno, everyone just immediately shrugging it off and accept the fact he's here to stay after the established pushback isn't something I'd buy the author doing. Guess we'll have to see soon.
