It's nice to see that more mangas include simply friendship between opposite genders now. Not everything has to be about romance, there are more types of affection than only romantic!

And also nice to see that they keep a balance between "world ending dragon power" and "ok how are we organizing this stuff". But I have to admit that I think it gets more unrealistic with that. I mean: "Hey, lets just calmly discuss about somebody having world destroying powers, where do we want to seat them in class?" is not the reaction I would have, to be honest.

through community and support all things are possible, including finding ways to mitigate world-ending dragon powers

fr though, always a joy seeing Ruri find support in others, from her closer friend group to the whole classroom and beyond it's fun seeing that mix of holding her accountable while still standing by her to make things Better

I have nothing against friendship between the genders, but I would also like to see it accompanied by the most normal friendships between girls or between boys instead of trying to make any fiction friends the object of shipping.

I love these goobers.

It is just so nice to see people just... communicating, I know real life can be even messier, but... we need examples like this that... yeah, we can just talk our problems out.

Fully agreed. But I'm not sure if that particular thing isn't more on the reader than on the author side. Hell, sometimes it feels like certain people really only ship and see the story as unnecessary baggage.

Exactly. I'm not against shipping per se, but people often turn it into an end in itself, expecting romance from any relationship between characters, even if the story revolves around the power of friendship or the characters are incapable of starting a relationship in the first place. For example, if they're blood related or are archenemies.

UPD. Ahaha, I'm not even surprised that the comment about shipping for the sake of shipping instantly triggers yuri fanboys.

I understand it probably won't end with them actually "nullifying" her powers, but seems kinda like a lame conclusion.

But I guess it'd be one way to end the series.

I hope the series doesn’t turn into just another school slice of life. If Ruri ends up not using her powers anymore, the series kind of loses its charm. I hope the manga isn’t ending and that some plot happens where Ruri is forced to use her powers in some way.

I 100% agree, if she stops using her powers then what was really the point of the chapters about her accepting herself as a dragon.

I don't know what the author plans to do in the future, if any. But for now, it's already a school drama with elements of fantasy. You could even easily read it as a metaphor for a teenage girl exploring her unique roots.

Nah, this manga's writing is too good for a lame ending like that. What will probably happen is that she'll end up going to see Dad and then after a lot of infodump, she'll probably find out that there's no way to actually nullify the powers, but he'll probably work with her to be able to control them... Or something like that.....

(Yes, I know... I'm not a writer... Please don't sue me...)
