Have you even considered the fact that real slavery in Japan being not so distant DOES in fact add a perfectly reasonable scenario template to be included in modern setting manga and anime? Nice job twisting what I said to suit your own narrative. However I never said mangaka and animators were thinking about the atrocities of WWII, only used it as an example of their use of slaves during said war. The ruling class of Japan has always had a slave culture. Be it the serfs of the warlord era, the peasants under Imperial Japan, or the black companies after WWII. I am neither defending nor supporting their use of slaves, or variants there of, only stating that it exists and still has a place in the Japanese zeitgeist.
