Really? you know what a sword master meant but not weapon master? In the span of 2 years you didn't consult any other knowledgeable person? No conducting test to determine what kind of skill/job it was? You read weapon master as uepon master but not sword master as suord master?

This is just speculation, but perhaps "sword master" is written in japanese in the original chapter, and "weapon master" is written in english, so they don't understand what it means?

Maybe you should. It’s obvious enough for me, but not everyone’s as perceptive, and some context would be grateful. I assume sword master’s in kanji, and weapon master’s in katakana/hiragana?

The thing with this "Weapon Master" is that from the picture that went along it we can see that it's about guns while the rest of the world seems more sword & magic.
That's likely why they have no idea what it is and how to trigger it.
I guess this dungeon will somehow spawn a suitable "weapon" for him.

Between the cover art that reminds me of Arifureta and the fact that the picture with his blessing had a gun like some others mentioned, I’m guessing his blessing only activates with weapons above a certain technology level, ex: modern weapons of war or maybe just combustion-based weapons in general.
Maybe I’m just reading too into the similarities between his appearance on the cover and Haijime from Arifureta, but I’m guessing he’ll get trapped in a dungeon or something, go through hell, then find a gun either on the ground or as a reward, and his blessing will activate. A gunslinger protagonist could be interesting, so I hope they go that route instead of how the translation makes it seem, where he’s just a master of “weapons” that can use whatever he wants.

No. They only cover his skill awakening and then timeskip to when he's of high status. From there it's a story about how two estranged people reconnect and resolve misunderstandings

She's not being that mean, she is being reasonable (like, if he can't help he shouldn't really be getting in the way and risking his life over "I want to help too even though I can't right now."), just the tone that seems to be a bit off (but if what he did there is the usual, he deserved it, no one want's to see a friend die in front of them because he's a fool).
