yes but never recognize any of the effort he was putting in trying to help her. He himself knew there was a limited amount he could but he still wanted to help her. Yet endure abuse because of that. And you can look down on someone while not having bad intentions. Cause I agree Sasha is different from the other two
He did a lot for her and yet all she saw was someone who needed to be protected.
For example the dream: she wanted to make there dream come true thinking that Hyce would be fine and happy with reality then. But who on earth would be happy about something like that. He had a master class ability and yet she decided that it would have been impossible to do it with Hyce. And decide to do it herself. Thinking he would just accept that.
I get what you’re pointing out and I get the why. But with a dream like there’s I know I would rather die trying that giving up or being told too.
Yet Sasha took pity on him. Thinking it would be impossible and not wanting him to die wanted to fufill there dream herself for his sake thinking it would be better. And that he would be happy for her. But she never thought about how he would feel until it was too late
Don’t get me wrong I get why and I know she had his best interest at heart. But she did it in a terrible way
Wow that's a lot to unpack. Now time for my novel :S
One big problem, is that there's a lot of assumptions, to which imo are wrong. (going off manga not webnovel, so maybe I'm wrong on this, if possible give some examples as corrections, that way there's something to unpack).
For example: "never recognized any efforts" we aren't really shown much of that if any, we are dropped in after they have been doing this for an age.
At a point where they are barely able to keep MC alive, so it makes no sense for them to not kick him, because despite how he may be helping in other ways, he's not even able to pull his own weight, thus dragging everyone down. (and had been doing so for a while).
That isn't just dead weight, that's putting others at risk because of him.
If he wasn't valued at all he would have been kicked out the moment he became dead weight, not ages of tolerating him being dead weight.
Dreams are nice and all, but you can't ignore reality for them, there was no option of keeping him around and also keep climbing.
Should they have all given up on their goals and not stay where they are, but go down a rank so that MC is at less risk? bit unreasonable.
Also her "looking down" on him, I think is a baseless assumption, since she isn't looking down on him, if anything the opposite, even after kicking she's trying to help. What's she's doing is looking at things as they are. If he stayed he'd die. Simple.
This whole thing of "his class is a master" falls flat on the fact he couldn't use it at all. And just happened by chance. the argument being "o it could've happened in the party" but it never did, he's been in that situation countless times in the party, but instead of doing that last ditch effort, he's always being saved, which his thoughts would instead be "they'll protect me" instead of him thinking to try and protect himself.
And Sasha wasn't "thinking" it was impossible for him, it literally was, as he is, it's impossible, nothing was changing. The change that did help him was getting kicked out, not more stagnation and zero growth, with the higher and higher likelihood of not just getting himself killed, but his party killed. (take two of them out and the rest would likely follow).
Sasha has to think about the others and not just MC, childhood dream and promises are great, until they're just not possible, and you are ruining not just your life, but the lives of others to keep it. Including the one you made the promise to. MC couldn't grow because he was at too high a level with constant bodyguards protecting him. (he could have maybe awakened at a lower level solo, or just without the bodyguards being forced to experiment ALL THE TIME, not just sometimes).
Actually she did care. Regardless of the intention she kicked him out for being too weak. A big part of this is Sasha lack of honesty to hyce. There was a lot of things she was feeling at the time.yet instead of confiding in him he was the target of her stress
Yes I get that. But there were other ways to do so. Or at the very least confide in him about her worries. Again instead doing so he became a target of stress relief. And while it True it would slow down the team progression. But he had the potential and the team only came to be because of Sasha and Hyce did he not deserve that chance?
I mean 90% of time story like can be solved by communication.
But I don’t agree with that it lies more on the mc
you’ll see in the web novel maybe future in the manga. That while he may throw insult at them from time to time. He never out right reject them, it more “I’m gonna do my thing I don’t care what you do”
No he still pretty mad about it just because he understands why doesn’t mean he accept it.
he even later admit to understanding it was accident but can’t accept it.
He got abandoned twice, the dream they shared was thrown away, nearly die, lost his eye, and got ghosted for 2 years
Those maybe easy things to understand but they aren’t easy thing to forgive
Target of her stress? didn't care? uhhhh... unless you're referencing the novel, that ain't in the manga bruv. She was chewing him out for constantly almost getting himself killed... which is her caring for HIM.
And what I meant by she didn't care about his strength, she doesn't, she's forced to. there's a difference, if MC was weak, but was not at danger of dying and getting others killed in the process, then we'd not have a "kicked out from party" manga.
The issue is him dying and putting the rest of the party in harms way because of it.
As a leader you have to make tough calls, for the benefit of the party, she had already avoided doing so for soooo long, and she just couldn't anymore, because the risk wasn't just high, it was hilariously stupid.
He wasn't the target of "stress relief" he was the one causing stress. Big difference. (and if anything she was downplaying it, if you do what he did in most jobs you'd probably end up with a lawsuit and a charge for gross negligence)
Never confided in him? we don't know that, she's probably grilled him hundreds of times, and talked to him about it quite a bit. We aren't given much of their daily life up to that point, just the breaking point.
We can't assume the worst of her, just because he's MC. (which a lot are doing btw, many will blow up what was done to the MC and downplay what he was causing for others, intentional it may be not, but gross negligence would be an understatement)
Ah, you read webnovel, maybe there's more there that changes the context, I'm purely going off the manga here.
When I was saying more on MC, i meant the misunderstanding part. Which has been implied to be the biggest issue.
Since it shows him borderline not caring about being kicked out when he's picking the flowers, I've since learned that it is the being kicked out... which just makes him petty imo, because any level of self-awareness you'd know that you should be kicked out.
That’s where your wrong here,
for the last 2 years he never once tried to stop her from speaking to him. In fact this just my guess it seem like he was waiting. But Sasha just pretend everything was normal they meet and even spoken to each other multiple times but it was brief conversation and that’s it. He never deined her any chance to speak to him. But she didn’t say anything pretend everything was normal. And since the day of the accident she was taking multiple job to keep her distance from him.
Now the reason why is because of her guilt and her fear of him. Which is understandable and I get why. Hyce wouldn’t have been a easy person to face at the time.
Got ghosted for 2 years? he didn't get ghosted... If anyone ghosted it was him ghosting them. But assuming he didn't ghost them, then they just left him alone, because from their perspective he hates their guts... and thinks they tried to murder him.
She already tried to explain the moment it happened and he wouldn't let her... that's not on her for leaving someone who hates her and probably wants to kill her alone.
Just read the next part, "he never denied her any chance" besides the first and most important one... that counts as deny the chance, when he cuts her off and straight up accuses her of killing him, not letting her explain. (would you keep trying to convince someone who showed zero interest in listening, and every time you see them gives you a disdainful look, and so you try to talk a little to gauge how it is, and they're still dismissive in how they speak/act so you leave them alone)
Him acting as if he wants to be left alone, and giving them such looks, IS denying them the chance, cause they're just respecting the attitude he's giving off.
If he actually showed and acted in a way that was open to hearing them out, then it would have been less than a month, not 2 years.
But she should’ve said something. Even if she was scorn and curse out this is your child hood friend who you nearly got killed. And he lost an eye because of you. Someone who suppose to be super important to you. And yet you don’t say a word for over 2 years. And only apologize when he in a position of power. It not surprising he reject her like that.
"She should've said something" she did... the moment it happened... I don't know much about the Web Novel, but to say she never tried denies her trying the moment it happened. And again, with such hate directed at you, and a seeming unwillingness to listen, why would you keep trying? it's a fruitless endeavor.
Like what you just describe happening... happened. It's the start of the manga... She just never tried it again for 2 years (according to what you've said about the web novel)
You can't read their mind and know secretly deep down they want you to keep trying... they're just respecting that he wants to be left the hell alone. Hence why they only ever talk in passing as you mentioned.
It has nothing to do with his position of power... if that was the case, she'd never have tried to apologize the moment it happened, that's just hating on her dude... he rejected her from the start, she respected the rejection, for 2 years, until she couldn't anymore. Has nothing to do with his power, besides the fact that it means he won't be dying easily anymore.
And now their dream can actually be a reality, instead of her visiting his gravestone (assuming she didn't get killed with him), which was the reality if he had stayed, we can't assume magically he gets a chance like he did with the dragon, had she failed the save when it started he would've died instantly.
in the wn Novel hyce point out that Sasha only apologizing now meant that she was trying to silence him since a low class adventure had no influence but a s class adventure does and if he says anything now he could ruin sacred reputation. While not her intention and she even acknowledges that he has the right too. He made a good point of her apologizing now is what it seem like
His point of her trying to silence him is stupid tho... silence him for what? she didn't do anything, the only bad thing is the misunderstanding. That's a wack view for him to have, especially since... she literally tried to apologise the moment it happened... when he was still a nobody.
And that he knows she never actually tried to kill him... so what's there to silence? that he got kicked out? that's common knowledge... Am confused.
All of that rage/beytral and hurt was building for 2 years. Is really shocking he reject her like he did
Or tell me put in his position would you feel differently
She should said something on the day even if she was terrified and felt intense guilt. This of my belief he would been able to accept it better and maybe forgive them or at the very least not have the relationship they do currently.
Btw I’m not a Sasha hater I actually quite like her character. But this also some of my thoughts along with what I know from the novel
In his position I would feel hurt, but betrayed? maybe a little bit, but with self-awareness I'd move on quickly. Since they told me it's because I'm always almost dying... and then they still treat me kindly after kicking me out.
If anything I'd be more pissed that I am unable to use my powers, because that's why I had to be kicked out, staying in the party isn't an option, I'm not that much of a selfish asshole to expect it either.
Honestly, they wouldn't have had to kick me out, I would've left, since I'd hate to be the reason they died because they were busy trying to save my ass and got killed with me.
So I couldn't be in the position of hating them after 2 years, because I wouldn't. And they wouldn't have ignored me for two years, because the face I'd make every time I saw them wouldn't be of hate, but of sadness or regret, which would actually make me more approachable.
I'd also have the view that not only am I holding them back, they're holding me back, because I'm being protected too much removing opportunity to grow.
I'd still like to help and be a part of the group, but going with them would be out of the question, since it's just stupid and naive to do so. All risk no reward kinda situation.
"She should said something on the day even if she was terrified and felt intense guilt." huh? she did... he cut her off. you sure we're talking about the same story?
She can't finish doing something when he didn't give her the chance to.
I feel like things may have been changed from the novel. Did she not try to explain straight away in the novel and get cut off?
