"You could get some great materials if you kill them more cleanly, you know"
"With my blessing... you know that's impossible"

Based on the picture of the swiss cheese monsters I'd assume he has more than just explosives, yeah? Pretty sure there'd be plenty of materials you could still harvest from a body if you just kept it to clean shots to the head or the heart, something I'd expect an S-Rank adventurer with a "Master" blessing to be capable of. I'd especially expect him to take advantage of sneak attacks and sniping since he's so fixated on going solo for every mission.

It feels like this chapter is supposed to show off how cool and powerful he's gotten (while still not getting over his trust issues), but to me it just makes him look like an idiot.

Gonna say I feel pretty vindicated on this one, dude has both a Desert Eagle and a Winchester as options, and somehow is still having trouble NOT turning monsters into swiss cheese. Just aim for a vital point and you get to keep the rest of the corpse for materials, I don't see why a "Master" is having that kind of trouble accomplishing that. Even with this chapter we see him successfully headshot three goblins, so the earlier chapter is just weird - to give a reason why he's poor despite being an S-rank?
Maybe this is just my self interpretation but maybe the power imput of thoses weapons are boosted ? Like maybe the winchester shoot the equivalent of a anti-material rifle or his magic imput change the power ? That's just my way of thinking because i don't really bother with the logic of isekai-like manga (except when the manga shoot himself in the knee with the logic of the world).

would have been funnier if he was off on where she was invisible at and hit her

thanks for the chapter!

I'm glad Hyce wasn't a total ass and just ignored her as I was afraid he'd do. he actually talked! ^_^
well there isn't any bad blood, i think the only person he won't really talk to is sasha or any of his former teammates which is completely right, those person don't deserve to be in his life anymore,

Crazy how he is showing her a weakness that if someone gets close enough to touch the gun he is defenseless 🤦🏻‍♂️

She touched the butt. I'm guessing if the other person has greater control of it (more/better grip near the trigger) it disengages. Likely is fine if they grab the barrel unless they disarm him, and he should be able to resummon at that point. Disarming him would have always been an objective to stop him, so knowing the reaction to being disarmed doesn't put him at that much more of a disadvantage than the other party not being surprised and distracted by the dissolving weapon they just stole.

Maybe like, he got the ability to use the weapon masterfully but not any sort of monster's vital point as he is basically dead set on going head-on to every quest he is in and just spam trigger anything cuz "unlimited ammo" bullshit. And we only got a variety of guns, not any variety of ammo type of said guns that have introduced. I'll say that, if it is the .44-40 variety of 1873, the round are pretty effective to leave a bleeding wound, even more so if shot to the vitals, but need to be shot directly as it lack any piercing capabilities for most modern armor at range.

Also, an iron sighted weapon without special AP round for the given weapon would be pretty hard to aim at medium to long range, while the said AP round's effectiveness is not really proven for weird unidentified target with gray weak point (aside from the universal head, which is the brain) like is it gonna bleed if I shoot it's heart or lungs? Do they have a digestive solution enough to kill themself from inside if I shoot the stomach or intestines? Do they had any protection around the vital? Where are the effective vital points? And most importantly can this round reach the vital and do good damage?

I find it interesting that even though MC is a brooding loner, none of his weapons (so far) were of WWII German design. You know how much Japanese creators like to include those.

Monsters which have very valuable parts are not gonna be killed by a 9mm. Only other option he has is the launcher. Nobody really pays much for humanoids and goblins.

[Not a Spoiler, things that are not explained in the Manga based on the WN]

Well, there are still many who do not understand Hyce's abilities.

His ability level is Master which allows him to quickly find out the mechanism, strength and how to use the weapons used.

The power of the weapons summoned and used by Hyce is strengthened (in terms of attack power and explosion) from the original weapon.

His weapon's ammunition is unlimited.

The attack and explosion effects of the weapons used by Hyce have no effect on Hyce (for example, if he uses a missile or grenade on himself he will not be hurt) only affect other creatures besides himself.

The number of types of weapons increases over time when he explores the mechanism of his weapons (there is an ancient book left by Nobunaga, a human from Japan who helped him).

When his abilities evolve not only handle weapons, all types of tools and combat vehicles from Warships, Fighter Planes, Helicopters, Tanks and others can be summoned and used. How great is our MC's "Weapon/Gun Master" skill ;)

I can't speak for other people, but I actually quite like being spoiled as to what's going to happen, not with just this title, or even just with comics, but with most things in general.
I enjoy seeing how the author builds thing up to plot point I was spoiled on, I also like not having to wait around pondering what will happen.

Though I know I'm a rare breed. I get that the majority of people don't like being spoiled, but I don't get how people can stand the wait to find out what happens, when they don't have to? I guess it bothers me more than it does others. :thonk:
Perhaps I'm just impatient?
I'm definitely the same way, I prefer to know in case there might be developments I like or don't like in the future. And if it's something I really like even if the events leading up to it are spoiled, actually seeing how it pans out for yourself is so satisfying.

Right, the holes we see punched through the monsters in chapter 2.1 would suggest that no matter what weapon he's using it's probably got some higher firepower than the IRL weapons. And if that's the case I don't see why he'd need to spray so many bullets on every target he comes across to the point that the guy remarks he's made so many monster corpses worthless.

Maybe like, he got the ability to use the weapon masterfully but not any sort of monster's vital point as he is basically dead set on going head-on to every quest he is in and just spam trigger anything cuz "unlimited ammo" bullshit. Maybe he's simply careless with his blessing because of unlimited ammo or whatever, but that just makes him look stupid when he could employ any level of tactics to better conserve a target's body and have more materials to use/sell.

The "Master" blessing would be the easy handwave for 'it's difficult to aim those kinds of shots', since it makes him supernaturally good with the weapons. Considering his shots (with whichever weapon) punched holes straight through the monsters I'd assume penetrating power is not an issue either, outside of maybe a solid stone creature like a golem or something.

Monsters which have very valuable parts are not gonna be killed by a 9mm. Only other option he has is the launcher. Nobody really pays much for humanoids and goblins.
To my (admittedly limited) knowledge, none of those weapons use something as weak as 9mm. The Winchester usually uses .44 caliber and the Deagle can use .44 caliber or even .50 Action Express. The Benelli Nova generally uses either 12-gauge or 20-gauge, depending on the exact model.

Whatever he was hunting back in that chapter 2.1 montage shot had a bunch of holes punched in them, I'd assume it was either the Deagle or the Winchester that did that, maybe the shotgun if he has slug rounds. If he used the launcher it'd just be a pile of flesh and entrails that have been blown apart, which I agree would be an unsalvageable mess but isn't what we're shown.

My point with the goblins is that he was capable of aiming and targeting a weak point without filling the target with lead, not that they were worthwhile targets in themselves.

Now we just need him to use an M1 Garand for the ping and see everyone instantly fall in love with him and his ability
Hey I like that, I once had the chance to fire one clip before during military training, and even though it was part of the sound of a great war, it really is kind of 'enchanting, I have to say. You really had to look forward to it after 8 shots.

Thanks for the chapter. You're getting these done at a pretty good pace. I definitely wasn't expecting updates as frequently as you've been doing them. Fuck the people who are complaining.
Also, I think I posted any spoilers with a spoiler tag, but sorry for any I might've missed. People are going nuts on the comments for this series.

"You guys are all brick walls with mouths and you're yelling at each other"

Counterpoint : This is the internet. This is, like, the expected behaviour here.

And also it's funny to watch.

And I have no clue on how to insert an image. I prefer Disqus on that aspect because I'm stupid but I can still insert images on there.
Anywhere you can "copy link address" on an image, you can paste it in your post with the 🖼️"Insert Image" button (left to the emoji button).

I don't really understand either how the economy of the fantasy walmart DnD works. I can't imagine monster parts that got cut and ripped apart by conventional sword-and-bow is any more pristine than the one that's been riddled by bullets.

That being said, he is not exactly poor. In fact, he is the top S-rated adventurer and often exclusively taking S-rated quests as well, so he rakes in those money on daily basis, shaming Elon with his Twitter management. His bracelet-inventory will be eventually replaced with the most expensive, most-holding of all Bags of Holding, to the point he'll stock up supplies that can last him 2yrs of a solo expedition.
