It seemed like those were major shocks to her. Was there anything about that in the Web/Light Novel? I really like seeing characters feeling anguish for what they've lost due to their bad decisions and actions, especially if it's from some type of betrayal (intentional or not).

It's an echo to what happened with Hyce and Sasha is frustrated because this girl hit right on the mark. After that, Sasha take the time to learn and accept more about herself.

Haise didn't really forgave Sasha and co. in the truest sense. He just puts it in the back burner since he'd rather focus on his goal. For now, he's fine with starting the relationship from zero. i think thats the point, hyce genuine doesnt want anything to do with sasha and tbh i can understand his pov , meanwhile sasha is neither commiting herself to clear everything nor moving on in her life, tbh mc doesnt owe sasha anything and neither does she , at best they can be seen as two people working in same line of work currently

Cause it not a simple as that. Hyce is a special existence for Sasha. Both as family and as someone she loves. And as someone who once shared the same dream.His existence and connection to her is that important. But through time and status, she began to look down on hyce and couldn’t see what he truly meant to her. In doing so she made the wrong choice and ended it throwing away the connection they had.

Because of that she didnt see what she had until it was gone.
She screwed up and feel so much regret for all of it. The abuse, the exiled, the accident, the dream and the abandonment. She understands how much pain she cause him and wants to take responsibility for all of it.
Her feelings of regret and guilt makes her see how important hyce was to her. And how badly she screwed up.

She lost him once and doesn’t want to again even if it too late she wants to try again and again to be friends and apologize properly

I'm at chapter 135, so far. Here what I know

Hyce stays solo, he doesn't join a party and mostly takes requests alone. A lot of adventurers tried to recruited him but he turned them down. Sometimes, he cooperates with other, not really because he wants to but because he has to or people joining him without asking him. Some example:

1- Presea the elf will follow him during the Royal request because she needs the eternal moon grass. After the request done she stays at the Royal capital and meets Hyce occasionally for talk and meal. They both do request on their own and rarely together.

2- During a big Monster stampede, Hyce has to cooperate with every adventurer to annihilate 70 000 monsters. Also, he saves Sasha from being raped by goblins and give her a motivationnal speech which end up awakening her ability (her silver aura turn into a golden one).

3- When he is going to challenge the forbidden labyrinth in the desert, he asks Sasha to KO Presea to prevent her to following him and take care of her.

4- In the labyrinth, he meets a chaos goblin , an high intelligent species in the 500th floor and teams up with him. Hyce names him Chocolate. After the conquest of the labyrinth, they both part away.

5- Hyce takes a subjugation quest and Presea and Robin join him without asking. He is not really bothered by their presence.

6- Geist request Sasha and Hyce to go with him to explore a dungeon because he felt nostalgic as their master and wanted to get some good exercises.

7- Hyce has to cooperate with Presea, Hijiri and team Sacred to retrieve a map located in a graveyard. The map lead to the next forbidden labyrinth, so he has no choice and it was a request from the king. Fun fact, the group separate and goes to the graveyard in pair to avoid fighting the dangerous monsters, and Hyce end up with Piazolla (Tycoon planned this).

8- With Geist and Reynolds, he destroy a slave auction and end up take care of 2 children, a boy and a girl around 12 years old, they are twins and demon. They work in the inn where is staying.

9- Hyce is going to challenge his 2nd forbidden labyrinth which is located in the skies and only him has the means to reach it. Yup, our boy has awakened his abilities and summoned a fucking helicopter. While he takes altitude and other see him off, Sasha on an impulse uses her golden aura to jumps on the helico, and thus Hyce is now exploring the labyrinth with her.

To be honest after the Royal request, Hyce is not an edgelord anymore. Sure he has his moments where he is annoyed by others, but mostly he doesn't really avoid people and he is cool as long they repesct his boundaries
