On another note, it didn't need bullies, it really didn't... Especially when seeing the face of the leader after almost getting beat-up by an adult.

one possibility is the bully has some relation to one the dad's other victims. even if she has no direct relation, it would not be unusual for the girl to be made to carry the stigma of her father's sins, and thus ostracized and further victimized for it.

Oh of course bullying. Just checking another thing off the list for cheap emotional appeals. Good. Great stuff.

Wait so is she the same girl whose father was killed by the MC?

Did the mother not know who she is? She mentioned both her parents passed away early which is weird if she knew it's her.

Also, I'm still hoping it'd be wholesome and is just triggering paranoia for the MC.

Is she one of those girls worshiping serial killers ?

I know this is the Japanese justice system we're talking about here but the idea that he got seven years of jail time for murdering his sister's rapist still is rather surprising. There's real world stories all the time about people being found not-guilty or at most house arrest for similar things. That being said, I do hope this stays more wholesome and less revenge based with the girl.
I'm surprised that, since this is Japan we're talking about, he didn't got a death sentence...

I really hope this isn't a revenge story. (Just watched Redo of Healer) Maybe she explains to him she was angry at first but then wants him to take responsibility and watch over her.

My ideal hope: Shiika is looking into the details of Kazuma to better understand his circumstance. Is sympathetic towards Yuri and genuinely wants to be seen as Kazuma's little sister to also atone herself for what happened to Yuri as she feels responsible in some way which explains why she's so excited to see him (as described by his mom). So it fits the theme of atonement not just for Kazuma but Shiika as well.

There is litteraly nothing that indicates that this story will turn Shiika into a 5D revenge killer who happens to be 12 or 13years old. Like come on guys. She is a deeply hurt child. Her reaction alone when Kazuma asked her to go to school showed that she is scared from all the bullying she had to endure. I also doubt she was treated well as a child of a rapist.

And ofc Shhika is collecting this stuff about kazuma as a reminder for atonement. She knows that her father did something awful and wants to make up for it.

If you want to worry about someone it should be Shiika. The Girl who bullies her doesn't seem exactly nice.

The rapist having a daughter is something that would have come up in trial (in the prosecution's case - i.e. the "victim" leaving behind orphaned children), and as a child care provider the child's family situation would be known as well. The mother definitely knows exactly who the girl is.
Ah, okay. I get it.

I feel like this is misdirection and by that I mean, I don’t think she has evil intentions towards him (or his mother). No revenge (like many comments think).
Although not evil, they may be twisted reasons still. Such as him taking the place of a father (or well this case older brother) that she never had, a caring protective one who’ll always be on her side no matter what.

She was young when her dad died and we don’t know yet if he was a good father to her but if by chance it turns out to be a creep towards her too then she may not hate the MC. So yeah she probably feels guilty in a way her father basically ended MC sister and is willing to take her place as well.

This idea of 4D Chess Revenge on the girls part would be, honestly, a massive BS move on the author's part. It would more ideal if she told him that she originally wanted to kill him, but after seeing him so destroyed by guilt, she wanted to try to make amends with him.

Think about it. After the first few chapters, we see the guy destroy himself with guilt, to what? To lift him up and spike him like a volley ball into a ditch? What kind of message would that send? There is no peace or atonement for what you did? To try to do something right only to be punished for it? That would be so emotionally draining and depressing to read.

I think Shiika already revealed her plan earlier in the chapter—she wants to "replace" his sister. She wants to fill the void that Yuri's death created. Maybe she feels like she owes it to Kazuma and his mom, since it was her father who caused it. Maybe she thinks two broken families can become whole again if they have each other. Maybe she wants to have somebody who'll protect her, someone to feel safe around.

Irregardless, I'm hoping for an optimistic story about three broken people slowly healing and supporting each other. If the twist is that she's hell-bent on revenge, I'd be pretty disappointed.

she was clearly a toddler (prenursery at most) when the incident happened. so now she would be like 10-11 and in grade school

edit: looking at chapter again and going by her school mates seifuku and shoulder bags i would guess first year middle school so maybe 12-13 (i.e. 4-5 when it happened)

Nope. It's been 7 years since he was thrown to jail, she must be at least a university student. My bet is that it has something to do with her father being lolicon rapist.
Idk it looked like she was 8 or 9 7 years ago
