Ivy-chan is too cute. She gives off assassin's creed vibes with her outfit especially when she is on top of trees.

Did she really lose her dagger? She had one when climbing the tree, but maybe it was a different knife

What period are you thinking of?! I've never heard of any society that base — and the medieval Europe this setting was based on really wasn't. (The medievalist in me strongly objects to this absurd notion. Well, education regarding the Middle Ages is decidedly less than brilliant, to put it mildly, but still, commonplace defecating the street?!) Back then people would do their business in something called the privy; while it wasn't up to today's standards by any means, they were all but ubiquitous (since few people had servants and since those who had them usually didn't have the numbers seen in subsequent centuries, the chamber pot had yet to gain the popularity it did in from the Renaissance until the development (or rediscovery, I'm not sure which) of indoor plumbing). Thing is, being in a state of undress in public was usually taboo (depending on the location and type obviously), so privies of various kinds were kind of necessary, even if that meant taking a shit in a thicket (this is also how most of the uncivilized groups took care of things). Moreover, while the dumping laws weren't that strict (it depended on when and where; dumping things in the street wasn't exactly unheard of), they typically had some similar laws, usually to prevent problems from things potentially attracted by the waste (mostly extra rodents, but also some wild beasts and bandits) as well as preventing streets from becoming impassible (like I said, when and where). Additionally, some things which we consider waste, they didn't (e.g. scraps of wood were often used for kindling, even small clothing scraps would become cleaning rags, urine was sometimes used in tanning and the processing of felt, etc.). That said, most of this was pragmatic and basically none of it had to do with the environment (at least one English queen consort refused to live in London due to smog… during the 12th century). Please excuse the rant — the absurdity incited it.
Corrections:

What you were talking about is called public or open defecation. While there are otherwise advanced societies which have a tendency to allow this, Europe is definitely not among them (and by the Middle Ages, what I said before stands).

As for the pollution, it was the 13th century. The queen at the time was Eleanor of Provence; she was driven from Nottingham Castle by the fumes from Nottingham's forges burning coal, in 1257. London, however, did become the first city in the world to suffer from anthropogenic smog at around the same time, with our first documents complaining about it dating to 1285.

Probably the first isekai fantasy I've read that tackled the problem of literal garbage. People chug potion bottles in nearly every fantasy and isekai and those usually just magically disappear after drinking. Like the labyrinths have some kind of auto garbage collection function. Here even potions expire and have to be thrown away and trash piles up in big dumpsites.

So slimes are useful in this world for their garbage disposal abilities. Almost a bit like incinerators in the real world, except more eco and bio friendly with no toxic smoke. And that creates a niche for Tamer jobs with the law even mandating that each party must have one. Interesting.

She's really lucky the ants didn't attack her. Or maybe there'll be an explanation for that. I hope she makes a friend soon, I'm feeling a little uneasy about how vulnerable she is and climbing trees are her main means of defense.

It's weird this world care more about pollution in this age. Like Similar time wise u can poop on the street and noone would bat an eye.
yeah but dont forget glass is as common as can be if even a zero star can get there hands on it by the time glass was that easy to make we were consuming like crazy i assume this is a world where mass production is done through magic and is easy to do (skills i assume) so making stuff growing stuff all that is easier but like us waste is a problem and unlike us they dont got trucks to haul it far away i might be wrong though.
