It feels meaningless if the limits are self imposed and not for some kind of thoughout training. And to illustrate my point, do any of the other fighters forfeit the use of their skills? If he wanted to test himself as a level 99, why is he using that sword that alters how he can use skills? It just feels pointless.
I also didn't like that his level consuming skill ate all his levels in just one relatively short fight (meaning that unless he can control how quickly it burns levels, it's a useless skill only meant to rig the skill acquiring system).
