when he duels his friend in chapter 18-19 it doesnt make much sense. hes level 25,000 or something compared to level 99 and we already have seen the stat difference even between 10 levels is a large amount. his stats are high enough at level 25,000 where he can just move and punch him 3 times before he is even aware what happened. the only logical explanation is hes letting his friend hit him? guess we will see in chapter 20

There is one thing everyone seems to be getting wrong about this - yes, it is completely unoriginal in the overpowered dungeon /player/ premise but what it DOES do uniquely is somehow manage to turn that concept into a slice of life series where there is no actual plot! It will just end one day, not unlike when your high school characters finally graduate and have to go out and start a real life.

Everybody is just vomiting bile all over the comments

@HaveABanana Actually nailed it. This is a slice of life manga.

It's pleasant, it's got a slow pace, the kid is learning to have friends.

Yeah people misunderstood this manga they think it’s about the fights and his abilities when in reality it’s all about the down time he has, you can tell the focus is not really much on the fights considering they are usually not longer than a chapter, it’s just fun watching how he interacts with others and makes friends and treats his friends.

A MC with literally zero personality or morals beyond what's required to advance the plot. Anything bad that happens to any character is resolved within a few panels, there is no conflict that matters, ect. ect. You honestly don't even need to read the TL you could just look at the raws and know exactly what's happening the story is so generic.

Oh wow. The latest edge lord arc was so terrible. It made me physically ill. My new rating for this series is 3/10.

That puts it at the same level as the slimy goo that builds up at the bottom of a dumpster.

Looks like a pretty original manga, doesn't it?
I don't even understand what appeal these writers find in stories about a guy who is obscenely more powerful than the rest of the world and become so without even breaking a sweat. Isn't there value in seeing a main character overcoming some form of challenge somewhere in the story?

I honestly don’t understand how people are unable to rate properly. As of writing this, the manga sits at a 7.16 rating, which just baffles me. If something’s bad, it deserves a rating below 5—simple as that.
Now, onto my opinion: the best word to describe this manga is childish. Every character is painfully one-dimensional, and while the author tries to give them personalities, they fall flat due to relying on overused, cliché tropes—especially in the romance department. Nothing about these characters feels fresh or engaging.

The power system, though, is what irritates me the most. Even after turning my brain off, it’s impossible to enjoy. How do you fail at basic math and completely disregard the numbers in the leveling system? Lvl 99 can almost beat Lvl 2000+? The numbers are meaningless and exist purely for show because the author wants to force suspense and thrilling action but fails spectacularly.

The plot is just as weak—one bland event after another. The action is far below average, with poorly choreographed battles and a system that feels like it wasn’t thought out at all. The manga's supposed to be exciting, but it’s just a boring, formulaic mess based on overused cliches for a plot.
I’m being generous with a 4/10, and that’s mostly because the art is decent—not great, but not bad either. This manga is definitely readable only if you are new to reading and like most people starting out, likes OP MC. I would recommend adults to steer away from this frustrating empty mess.

7.16 is a good rating for this. Well, because almost everyone who rated it are kids. Who reads manga anyway? Grandpas?

Was willing to play dumb when I saw "Level Up" in the title and the art for the cover looks pretty good. But when I read the English title I just wanted to face palm. But I'm willing to give this manga a chance though, so I'll edit this comment after reading it.
been a year and bro still haven't come back to edit the comment lol

I've read extremely bad stuff.
But I can confidently say that this manga isn't bad at all.
It's true that the MC suddenly got OP, but the story is actually alright for me after reading 36 chapters in one go.

Try checking all these manga I listed:
-Fuguushoku to Baka ni Saremashita ga, Jissai wa Sorehodo Waruku Arimasen?
-Isekai Kaeri no Saikyou Tamer, Tsukaima wa Osananajimi
-Shokubutsu Mahou Chito de Nonbiri Ryoshu Seikatsu Hajimemasu Zense no Chishiki o Kushi Shite Nogyo Shitara, Gyakuten Jinsei Hajimatta Kudan

These 3 manga above has almost the same rating, but I find this manga (Saikyou de Saisoku) to be a lot better. Story is alright, drawing is pretty nice, pacing is alright, personality is also alright, nothing too bad nothing too good.

But well, just my opinion for future readers.

And also thanks for the translations!

its a cool idea, but it would be nice if the mc had to go through some actual character development or real struggles before reaching a ridiculous level. At the very start of the story, he's at level 10000 or something

Just on the first page of this, I see what's likely a bunch of 30+ year old men whining about how shallow a manga with a clearly kid oriented target audience. Is this a masterpiece? Nah. Is it bad? Not really. Oh no! A naive and enthusiastic 12 year old girl is enamored by a probably 15 year old THE HUMANITY! At least she acts like a 12 year old might.

Honestly, if you're reading this while keeping the obvious target audience in mind the 7/10 score we have right now is fair. This is fun. It doesn't need to be deep, and the author seems to have an idea of the story he wants to tell, and it feels like there's real passion behind it. This could be some soulless by the numbers story, but it doesn't come across that way to me.
