I'm sorry, is her entire family fucking stupid? Like apart from being abusive. You'd have to be brain dead to actually take a SIX YEAR OLD seriously when they said they want to be a cook while enjoying a meal. Like actually fuck off. If she was in the double digits (like 12) and slacking on training to like play with friends they'd at least come off as JUST abusive. What was the shock for? Based on her internal monologue none of the adults even explained what the hell was going on, what was being celebrated, or what her powers were/meant. The six year old legit thought they were just happy to have good food and wanted to be someone that made others happy. It wouldn't have been that hard to take a child like that and explain how everyone was happy because of the powers she awoke and she could make people happy by being a hero. Then you have a Super Hero that enjoys hardworking to save others from the Demon God evil super omega threat instead of a soulless black eyed overworked traumatized ticking time bomb (shed either crash out and turn evil or burn out and get herself and everyone killed).
