It's alright, if they become friends and maybe more after some chapters (at least
5) and character development happened. But vowing eternal fealty or love, because the author constructed some shitty "Let's beat the cutey or decent and friendly, male Warrior slave, so that MC gains his first love interest or a reliable buddy, after freeing them" setup, that's soooo overused. It
was a good setup and if rightly done still is, but in most cases it's blunt, because it lost its edge.
