@twinklecake Because they are free. The key point here is that these are slaves. The bar is low. Its like taking a regular person out to some fancy resort or something. The "upper class" do that stuff all the time but people barely getting by would be grateful for the kindness. That is of course countered by the intentions at play.

If your comment was supposed to be comical you failed on the grounds of logic. For that kind of comment to be funny you need to keep the original meaning of what your relying to or referencing and its context. You can twist it a bit but never disregard it.

@twinklecake: Oh my God. That shouldn't have been funny. On one side it's as Merilirem wrote. Slaves in fiction, that are mistreated all the time and are reacting favourable to kindness, that's not so absurd. But on the other side, if you meant to criticise the sheer amount of >Falling for the MC in a matter of second, because he just acted like a decent human being.< in isekai mangas and elsewhere, I feel you. That really becomes absurd. And a tad bit annoying.

It's alright, if they become friends and maybe more after some chapters (at least 5) and character development happened. But vowing eternal fealty or love, because the author constructed some shitty "Let's beat the cutey or decent and friendly, male Warrior slave, so that MC gains his first love interest or a reliable buddy, after freeing them" setup, that's soooo overused. It was a good setup and if rightly done still is, but in most cases it's blunt, because it lost its edge.

@phil777 First, it's not a threat, I just think getting raped would make him a better person. My intentions are completely benevolent. I also wouldn't personally go rape anyone in reality since it takes up way too much effort.

Second, it's not discrimination since I assumed that guy was a guy, which is the same gender as me. I am not a self-hating person.

Third, the intended outcome wasn't to be offensive. That said, even when there's no offense intended, some people will jump at any excuse to be offended by anything regardless of the intent, in which case I claim no responsibility or even a shred of guilt, since that offended feeling seems to give them an addictively orgasmic pleasure.

PS: You should get together with that guy so you can both get that getting raped thing out of the way together. It'll fix you right up. Trust me.

is it bad that I'm disappointed he's just a stereotypical worthless fatass noble? I mean, I was kinda hoping for someone who, while not strong enough to beat Haru 1v1, would still strong enough that with a couple followers backing him up might actually put up an actual fight...but this piggy, it looks like about the best he'll manage is standing back waving his sword in the air shouting something like "regret opposing my might" while sending waves of mob minions at MC and will probably be defeated either in a single blow or without being directly attacked at all

MC has a relatively level head for this genre. Acknowledges that he can't just up and buy every slave he feels sorry for, doesn't try to lord his cheat power over others, actually considers the consequences of his actions.

Makes the story easier to read, for me at least.

@InsaneInsomniac: Who knows? We might be surprised un/pleasantly, if that piggy turns out to be competent as magician or magic swordsman. I imagine some sort of magical sword fighting style, that doesn't rely on agility, maybe by shooting flames or teleporting behind the enemy. Could make for an action packed fight. But I guess we will be disappointed.
